We are getting married in November and we will be honeymooning on an 11 night cruise and then spending 3 nights at WDW. We are DVC members and we love the one bedroom units. We just aren't sure which resort we should pick. We've stayed at SSR and loved it, also liked BCV and BWV because of their location.

I've never really had a desire to stay at AKL but maybe the villas would be ok. And we stayed at WL once, we weren't exactly pleased.

I'm taking votes...

you realize that food & wine is very, very popular with DVC members - so you may have to take what you can get.

You'd be hard pressed to beat OKW. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a huge jacuzzi in the master bathroom.

Glad you're going for a one bedroom unit. My votes goes to Old Key West Bring some candles and champagne for the jacuzzi!

You are getting married on 11/23, going on a 11 day cruise. So that puts you into a DVC resort in early Dec. You are going to have to take whatever you can get at this late date. And if you have to wait until 7 months out, you may be out of luck for anything but your own resort. So book that now if you haven't already. Unless you want to use points for a non-DVC resort.

Like Spiceycat said, this is a very popular time for DVC members because of the low points required for the stay.

Well, of course it isn't a late date at all except for your home resort. You just entered the 7 month window for other resorts. You won't know about availability until you try and there is always the waitlist.

I voted for BCV. OKW does have the largest one bedrooms but after an 11 day cruise I would think you'll want to stretch your legs a bit and hit the parks.

I booked SSR, it's our home and I love how new it is.

For anyone that might be wondering, we could have stayed anywhere, there was no trouble at all getting a room for this time period. Maybe I'm just lucky :bride:

That's great that you were able to book exactly what you wanted.

If early Dec was as busy as some think, the point structure would reflect that IMO. It sure is a popular time with DISsers though. When our children were very small, it was when we made our annual WDW trip. It is a great time to go.

Happy planning!

you are definitely lucky!!!

great I will call tomorrow!

One-bedrooms don't seem terribly hard to get. So far (knock wood), we haven't had any trouble. We did have to waitlist one of our nights of Boardwalk View last year (second week of December), but we got it months before the trip.

I voted for SSR. I think the proximity to DTD might make it more fun for honeymooning.

DH and I just took a romantic getaway to SSR- it was fabulous- we really took advantage of the DTD connection. However I voted OKW- I think the tropical theme is so beautiful.

Having only been a DVC member since July of 2005, I am not nearly as qualified as the other members here, but, hey, I'll take a stab at this anyway.

VWL is secluded and while Whispering Canyon is not the most romantic (understatement) place to eat, Artist Point is. So I'm going with VWL on this one.
