Which DVC resort is closest to Shades of Green?

We're meeting up with friends who will be staying at SOG. We are now within 7 mos. and there is availability for our dates at every resort. We are thinking since we won't have a car and will be relying on Disney transportation, it might be easier to stay close to SOG. I seem to recall they can walk over to Poly or the Transportation Center but never having been to SOG myself I'm not sure. Does anyone know? We only have enough points for a studio this time so lack of larger accommodations wouldn't be a problem. Thanks!

The Polynesian is the closest DVC to Shades of Green but anything on the monorail would work since the monorail will get you to the Polynesian.

How often are you planning to meet at your hotel or their hotel (as opposed to meeting at a park, for example)? If just once, I would say stay wherever you want and Uber/Lyft to meet up.

I recently stayed at SOG with my family (retiree in the family). The Polynesian was the closest followed by the Grand Floridian. Word of caution is they will more than likely have to come to you as SOG has a gate guard and allows only those who are staying there to enter. Hope this helps.

It's a pretty hefty walk and it's unlikely you can get in unless you are active or retired military. They might be able to leave your name. I'm not sure if they do the same checking with the buses though.

You'd be able to get onto the property as Palm and Magnolia golf courses are in there also. They will likely just ask to see a license at the guard shack. As for the hotel itself, I'm not sure. With that said, it's quite a long walk and probably not your best or most desirable option. Uber/Lyft/Yellow Cab are all fine options (we've used these getting to and from the golf courses there many times).

We love staying at SOG and it is a short walk to the Poly. :)

Poly. They can take the Shady Shuttle to the end of the SOG property and then walk across the street to the Poly, just be aware that the DVC units are in the longhouses furthest from SOG so they'd have a little bit of a walk. They'd be best off to meet you either at the lobby, or take their SOG bus to the TTC and meet you there, since you would be able to easily walk from the DVC at Poly there.
