Which DVC for 15 nights? large family

A 2BR villa will be easiest to get. Location would depend on preferences (Epcot/Boardwalk restaurants vs Monorail loop restaurants). In my experience, older kids will indeed share a bed if it means staying in a more luxurious resort.

I travel with extended family, including numerous adult nieces/nephews, often, and adults are very willing to share a bed at BC rather than having their own bed at a value, for example

Other than that, their options (if they want restaurants nearby, great pool and pool bar, etc. at their resort) is to rent a studio in addition to a 2BR or rent a larger suite at a deluxe (a *really* pricey option, and keep in mind that while many deluxe suites are large in size, not all sleep over 3 or 4).

Maybe it doesn't fit the "pampering" part but there are the Treehouses at SSR
I've been seeing them available with cash reservations every so often. At a discount. But not for 2 weeks
Worth looking, if they appeal

And there are the new Cabins at WL (CC, or whatever it's name is)
Though not sure what they sleep exactly, I think it's along the lines of the Bungalow at Poly

Another idea to consider would be a split stay - one week at one resort and the next at another. I know that it requires a mid-trip pack up, but I personally think it would be worth it because I love variety! It could be like two mini-vacations - maybe one week at an Epcot resort and one week at AKL.

Especially since two of them are girls. It's not likely that they are really tall.

I think this would be really great too! One week near the Boardwalk to be near Epcot/DHS and then another week at SSR to be near Disney Springs. I adore AKL (we own there) but I think there are better choices for teens.

Heck, our summer camp here has family/adult nights too. In the same bunk beds. While I wouldn't ever sleep in one every night, they are fine.
Now, a Murphy bed that is not full twin size no. But bunk beds, they are doable for adults.

I second the recommendation for a split stay. Availability may dictate where you end up staying. With the ages of the kids would they want to spend a few days at Universal?

Our dear friends are coming back to the US and will be here 6 weeks, then they will be heading back over seas for the next 5 years. My friend is not happy that they will be heading out again, her DH was suppose to take a job here in the US but he was offered a project of a life time and the money is crazy. So for 6 weeks they will be on holiday. Visiting some family, attending a wedding, a stop in NYC, and a couple other stops. Before they arrive to spend the last of their time at WDW.

So which DVC would you recommend for a family of 5? Don't think of the cost just were you would want to stay if money wasn't a issue.
So my friend and her DH, kids, 17 DS, 19DD, 21DD...

They want to be able to spread out, relax and not be over crowded.

They also want a spot so friends can come and go to visit them. Like a living room to be able to sit and talk. We are planning to spend some time in epcot with them but them head back to the resort to sit down and really catch up.
A great pool, and pool bar.
She is not cooking, but they want a full size frig for drinks, and adult beverages and snacks.
She wants to do the dinning plan - and is leaning toward DDXDP, they are all foodies and will love signature dinning.

The goal here for them is to truly be pampered/spoiled and not worry about the outside world for a while.

I'd do a 2 bedroom at BLT for the 3rd bathroom. It would give them a master suite with king bed and jac. tub, a 2nd bedroom with 2 queen beds (request a dedicated 2BR) and a bathroom and then a living room with a pull out couch and pull out chair; full kitchen, 3 tv's, 2 balconies, washer/dryer, 3rd bathroom, kitchen table, and can't beat the location. The pool area is not nearly as themed as some of the other resorts, however it's still nice, has a hot tub, view of Bay Lake and you can also use the CR's pool etc.

The only choice to meet all that would be a grand villa. With a 2 bedroom , some would be sleeping in living room. Of course you could do a 2 bedroom AND a studio, but then you may be a distance from each other.

I'm not sure whey some would be sleeping in the living room with a 2 bedroom. They'd have a King bedroom, and then a bedroom with 2 Queen beds. - 2 of the siblings would have to share a bed, but they would be able to easily stay out of sleeping in the living room.

IF it were a dedicated 2BR. A lock-off would be a King in one bedroom, a queen + sofa bed in the second.

The bunks are shorter and narrower than a twin sized bed.

I would say a 2BR would fit their party perfectly. A grand villa would work too, but there are less of them available so might be more difficult to book. In a 2BR each kid could have their own bed without sharing. Some of the room configurations should be considered. I know the kidani dedicated 2BR have 3 bathrooms, which sounds like a must for 3 older kids. For best choice of rooms they should book 11 months out, no later than 9 months. If it is between September to early Jan then 11 months is a must.

If location trumps layout then BCV or BWV would be a great location with being able to walk to 2 parks and just with the dining options at Epcot alone.

And with that long of a stay i would book one week at an Epcot resort and then the second week at another.

Their problem with renting is getting one owner with enough points to book a one bedroom and a two bedroom for 15 nights. They will probably need multiple owners and then connecting them or getting them near to each other becomes a nightmare. A GV for 15 nights via renting is going to be very hard. That's a whole lot of points. Now if they are paying cash, they can probably do anything they want. Including getting a suite at the GF or one of the other deluxe resorts.

When is this all happening? That will also play into the whole "renting points" issue.

If they want 15 nights, either in 2 units or a FB that is a LOT of points, and hard to procure.

Many of the GV require 11 month booking, as well.

It may very well not be possible to do this on either basis.

We will only stay on property but if we did ever have a reason to need a bigger property I would consider staying there. I'd have to have a car but otherwise, it's got all the same appeal that on site does. Well, no dining plan I guess. That would work out to be cheaper for them anyway.

The rough thing is that they would likely be the suites, and not DVC 1/2BR units. Because of how DVC units are "taken" by the Mouse for exchange, getting 15 nights in a popular resort+unit via cash is not common. I certainly wouldn't expect to be able to get 2 larger DVC units, same resort, somewhere popular like BLT or BWV via cash.
