So I'm having second thoughts about my original dress I purchased. My wedding is about 3 months away and I'm starting to panic a bit. Here's my original dress purchased from eBay for a whopping $50.00. I hope to God DF doesn't run into this site.

So here's a few others I found on eBay and I need your opinions...

HELP!! :bride:

Honestly...I like 2 and 3 the best. Probably 3 a little more than 2, but you really can't beat the price of 2!

I like #3. Your dress is beautiful, too, though. But seeing as you got an AMAZING deal, I wouldn't feel any guilt at all changing your mind.

i like 2 even before i saw the price first. you can just buy it and if you dont like it turn it over and sell it right away and probably make a profit!!

I like #3. I didn't realize wedding dresses could be so affordable. Any issues with buying them off of ebay?

Personally, I think your dress is gorgeous. But you have to love your dress and if you're having second thoughts then at least you have some time to find another one...I really like #3, very pretty. But it's really up to what you feel the best in. I realized when I was trying to pick out a dress that I brought too many people with me. Everyone had their own opinion and the whole time I had my heart set on the first dress I tried on. Everyone made me doubt my decision, but in the end I realized it's my dress and my wedding, so I chose the dress I loved. Sorry for rambling, but whichever dress you keep going back to and saying "but I really love this one" then go with that one. HTH! Let us know which one you end up picking!!! :goodvibes

My vote is for #2. I think the poofiness makes it look very princessy (I'm guessing that's what you're going for!), but the embroidery isn't over-the-top, making the dress look more elegant. I also like the strap-less straight edge (my dress vocab is just amazing, isn't it?!) over the halter-top; it looks much classier in my humble opinion.

:goodvibes :cutie:

I love dress #2.

But, I also looked at your $50 dress and thought it was really pretty.

I love ALL of them! But, then again, I just bought by third wedding gown on eBay - the deals these days are UNREAL! I've picked up a couple of gowns from bridal shops that are going out of business.

I think the trick with eBay, is that you have to go into it knowing that you may not love it when you get it. You have to be just about willing to "throw away" the money you spend just to try it out. (Of course, you can try selling it to someone else, so it wouldn't be a total loss.)

I always recommend writing down the amount of money you're willing to pay for the item sight-unseen (highest bid), BEFORE you start bidding. And definitely pay with PayPal and/or a major credit card. Those payment forms offer better consumer protections than others.

Another consideration for me is that I know that no matter where the gown comes from or what size it is, I am going to spend a TON of money on alterations, as I'm a full 3 sizes larger in the bust than I am in the waist and hips. My thinking was that if I can get the gown I want for a great price then, by the time I add the cost of alterations, I would have paid a "normal" price for a gown.

Call me lucky, but I've never been stiffed or burned when buying on eBay. All of my items have arrived promptly and in great condition. (Knocking on wood as I'm still waiting on gown #3 to arrive).

Best of luck . . . let us know what you decide!

Personally I'm not a big fan of strapless, so I'd say dress #1, but that's a little expensive for ebay. I also like #3. I think the detailing on #2, really emphasizes the chest area...so if you don't want attention drawn to that area, I'd picked the other ones. But I think your original one is lovely. Perhaps go to a store like David's and try on similar style dresses so you can get a feel for how they look on your body?

Dress #3 for sure. Dress #1 emphasizes the bust area a little to much for my tastes, but depending on your body this could be a good thing! I don't like the how the gatherings lay on Dress #2. Seems like from the back it won't be flattering, whereas Dress #3's gatherings lay flatter and give a better A-line feel. But that's just me :)

Like someone else said on here, everyone will have their own likes/dislikes (as evidenced by the posts thus far). The dress that you compare the others to, the one where you don't feel like you're missing out on another good dress is always the one to go for. So imagine yourself purchasing one dress and how you feel.

I love your original dress!! Did you get it in pink? I adore it. I also love #3. It's a Maggie Sottero. I was seriously debating about getting this one too. I thought it looked really elegant, but my DH hated it!

In the end, it's up to you. What makes you the happiest?

How are the quality of these dresses? I'm sure they are copies, but if done right, they can be just as nice as the designer gowns.

Your original is lovely.
Personally I am drawn to gown #1. I love the bodice and detailing and do not care for the strapless look, but all are beautiful!
WEAR what makes you FEEL good, its a VERY special day, so no second thoughts ANYWHERE!
Good Luck in your decision, I hope you'll let us know what you decide!

Thanks ladies for your opinion!

They are very affordable. You just have to look around and do your research before jumping in and buying right away. I have been a member on eBay for years now and never had a problem. *Knocks on wood*

They are copies and not original dresses. They're made from factories in China for a fraction of the price! Hmmm... original dress for $1,500 or a copy for $30+ including shipping?... I'll take the copy! I just can't see spending so much money on a dress I'll only be wearing once.

Just to let ya'll know, I bid on dress #3. Wish me luck! :woohoo:
