I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. We are going to WDW Jan.1. I have a Graco Dualglider and like it for the mall and walks. I am thinking it might be too heavy for trams and buses at WDW. I would like one that reclines and has a basket. Anyone out there love their lighter-weight double stollers?????

I am going through the same thing right now, lol. I have a double unbrella stroller that I really like, but I don't want to take it to WDW because it does not recline all the way back for naps and is soo wide when you are going into shops, ect...
So, also looking for suggestions????

We went to WDW in May for almost 2 weeks. DD princess: was almost 4 and DS :earsboy: was 20 months at the time. I use a Schwinn double jogger at home (love it!!), but no way was I bringing it along on our trip. One week before our trip, I had a brainstorm that we should buy a new double, as a rental in the parks would have been more expensive. Our new stroller proved to work out just as well on our recent surprise trip back to WDW in September, even though the kids grew a bit.

I bought a Chicco Velocita Twin Umbrella style stroller and it was the best thing I could have done in terms of needing a stroller for vacations! It cost $119 shipped and was mistaken by others to be a MacLaren (more expensive) a number of times in the parks! A rain cover was included with the purchase. Also, we separately purchased a sun shade (Rayshade?) that was the best investment!

The Chicco has 5 recline positions (seats recline independent of each other)and ample basket space underneath (sometimes hard to get to something from the back if seat(s) are in recline position; The sides are an option for smaller items if the basket is not stuffed.). My DH is the expert at quick fold/unfolding to board and leave buses, etc. The stroller has an almost identical framework as a Mac and folds very easily. It also fits nicely through all openings/doorways we encountered, whether at the airport, resort, parks, etc.

Needless to say, I would highly recommend this Chicco stroller. I had to get mine online, but my local BRU had a single model that I was able to try out before ordering the double. I believe the vender I used was Albee Baby. Otherwise, a Google search will help out, as that is what I did. (I just needed the best price, but primarily quick ship!) Good luck shopping! :wave2:

I'm a fan of my Maclaren Twin Traveler. It reclines for napping, has good handling for one handed steering, and -- most importantly for me -- has handles and a base that works well for taller people (like me and my 6 foot self!) so when you are striding through the walkways you don't kick the back. We took the Mac TT on our trip in December (DD was 3 years and DS was 1 year) and it worked wonderfully!

My DD just turned 2 and my other DD was 11months last month and we used our Graco Dualglider without any problems. Sure, it was tough getting on and off the buses and trams b/c DD 2 was hesitant getting up the stairs and DD 11mo didn't walk, but we managed, it certainly didn't bother us. The basket underneath and the fact that front and back had sunshades and reclined were huge plusses for me. It was defintely worth it over 2 umbrellas or renting a double in the park.

It does not recline to totally flat, but I would say that is goes down as far as it would to be almost flat. (Did that make any sense? :confused3 ) There are five recline positions. Both of my children comfortably napped in this stroller. Also, the front/bottom of the seats go all the way down for sitting up and using footrests, but also have levers so that the front/bottom of the seats can be outstretched (ie: for a smaller baby to have feet not dangling...). No problems with recline positions, so much that if one of the kids drifted off sitting up, the latches to recline the seats is accessible to gently ease them into the furthest recline position. Also, the safety belt is a 5 point harness type. :wave2:

I am going to go this w/e to check it out also!! Thanks soo much!
