Which do you call first if Hurricane changes plans?

I would like to hear from anyone who has had to change their travel dates because of any of the hurricanes?I know that depending on the storm,Disney changes their policy on no shows and canceling or if you must set a new date,I also know that the airline also change their policy ( each airline is different). My question is this:if we must change our travel dates (like they did last weekend) do you call Disney to try and get a certain date or the airline first? My luck would be that which ever one I called first and would change my travel dates that when I called the other,I would not be able to get the same date.I know that no one can depend on the weather, and I'am not worried over it,I would just like to know what everyone else did about calling and changing dates.I like to have a back up plan, even, if I would have to have more than one travel date handy.I have arrived during a tropical storm before and the Poly was great about keeping up informed by voice mail about the weather, alot of rain and wind, but it still did not ruin our vacation. Also we're using US Air this trip, what were their rules about last weekend?I know that the airport (alone with alot of things were closed),but did US Air ask you to change your plans to certain dates (I think Northwest did)?

We leave on this coming Sunday for WDW. I plan to call US Airways first if Ivan decides to ruin our plans. I feel that there are more hotels rooms available in Orlando (I know not as many as usual right now) but still more roomos than empty seats on US Airways planes leaving on Sunday or the following Sunday. These two weeks are my only choices for travel so I'm gonna make sure we have seats on the plane.

I will then go look for rooms. If I can't get code rate at POR for the next week like I already have, I will simply downgrade to a value or hit skyauction and get a condo for the week.

Hope none of this is necessary and I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed not only for my vacation but for the state of Florida. I think they've had enough the last few weeks.

Thanks for the replys. We're suppost to leave Sept.19th and we have the 7 for 4 deal with Disney, with 4 adults staying at the Contemporary tower.I just wonder if they would let us keep the same deal for another date since this offer is over,if they are the ones telling people to stay home?I feel so sorry for all of the people in FL. and now other states also, that these storms have been so hard on.You all are right that the airline should be the first call, less seats and flights than resort rooms. Thanks again for the replys.

If you are definitely cancelling the old dates, remake the ressie with the fewest restrictions first (usually the hotel), but even before that at least check airfares to see what they are. In the case of hotels you can even make the new reservation for a few more room nights than needed, then you have some choice of dates to remake the plane reservation with, then adjust the hotel ressie to match.
