Hello all  My husband and are are longtime DW visitors, but are now preparing for our first DL trip as part of a wonderful once in a lifetime opportunity to join an art trip in early March. We will be spending 2 nights OOP for a hotel, but are having a hard time trying to figure out which to pick. So my question to all of those here in the know is which resort would you recommend for first timer adults if cost didn't matter?

Any helpful insights or guidance is greatly appreciated

:thanks:

Easy, the Grand Californian. It's a 2 min walk (uh oh, is 2 min exact??? ;) ) to the parks, the rooms are very nice, the grounds are wonderful, lots of dining options. The only reason I've never stayed there is cost. Our family can stay at a hotel across the street from DLR for 1/5 of the cost, so it works for us. But if cost doesn't matter, then definitely GCH.

DH stayed at the Disneyland Hotel when he was a kid, about 30 years ago. For nostalgia, he wanted to stay there with our kids when we were there in October. We had an awesome time -- the grounds are beautiful, the pool is grand, and lots of special Mickey touches -- but when we walked through the Grand Californian lobby (on our way from Whitewater Snacks), I think he was blown away, and I liked how close it all was.

All that being said, unless it's a really special occasion or an incredible deal, we will probably stay offsite within walking distance next time we go for multiple days and save some money. With 4 kids, we need two rooms or a family suite wherever we stay and it gets pricey.
