We stay at the Grand Californian. Although I would love to stay at the DH because of the Disney theming, the GC is just the best as far as location goes IMO. A side entrance to DCA, and a short walk to DL. Perfect, especially if you like the idea of going back to your room for a nap or fitting in some pool time. If you pay extra, you can get some amazing views. We once had a view of the bear rock and one of my favorite memoires was standing on the balcony in the morning in my fluffy GC robe and watching the resort get ready for the day. The last trip we had DD view and was lovely, with all the lights and the sounds of the street musicians. This trip we are taking a big group and just doing standard view, so we'll see what that is like.
Very nice resort, I have heard compalints about room size, but I thought they were fine. Three restaurants: Napa Rose (didn't like it) Storytellers, (has the characters..Chip and Dale) OK, but overpriced for what they offer IMO and Whitewater Snacks..love that one. Plus, very close to all the DD restaurants.
For us, the location of this one wins hands down.
