which Disney vacation book is best..

My favorite book is also The Unofficial Guide however with the exception of the crowd calendar if you look you can find most of the info right here on the DisBoard. But just to let you know. I was in Target yesteday. In their $1 spot they have Frommer's Walt Disney World with Your Family for 2010. I could not believe a Disney guide book for $1. I got one. It looks interesting. I have not done more then glance through yet I have had a sick little one. But for a buck I think it is worth that.

OOOH! I'm gonna check out our Target today, but I bet we won't have it. LOL!

So sad, I went to my Target on my lunch and no book, not even in the book section. Oh well!

And mainly because I'd like mainline the magic I dont have too much bad to say about any

1) unofficial guide is a wealth of info
2) unoficial with kids is good with kids perspective
3) birnbaums (enjoyed but not as much)
4) birnbaums dining (seems to be a repepitive of what you see in the other but its pocket size if you want to take along
5) mousejunkies (i have to say i read this 3x as if it were a twilight book series and loved it with some good tips as well
6) Fodors with Kids 2010, ( just got this one as well, but i really like it with its insider tips and different age grouping suggestions

Hope it helps!

I went to Target this afternoon and looked. I found a Frommers book about 1000 places to take your children too and One last Walt Disney world book. So I grabbed it quickly. I got a few other things and paid....I noticed I was charged $2.50 a book though, still a bargain, but hey they were in the dollar bin, with all the other dollar books, and the $2.50 section was a seperate area, so I went up to Customer service and told the guy that they were in the dollar bin and he checked there price and said they were $2.50 each. And I replied, well they weren't anywhere near the $2.50 section, but in with all the dollar books. There were NO books in the $2.50 section...and he price adjusted for me. YAY! I know it's not like I got back tons of money, but $3 plus tax can allow me to buy 3 items at the dollar store! LOL!

Birnbaum is the best available. my family has been there 14 times and we still get Birnbaum every year

We love the PassPorter...would have to say that's our favorite. We also buy the Birnbaum's every couple of years.

Sorry for your trouble. My receipt shows $1 not $2.50 that is too weird. I hope you like it. I plan to look through mine this weekend. Maybe it will get me in a Disney mood.

The Targets in my area are famous for ringing things up wrong. I always check the reciept because alot of times they don't take off coupons, or ring up wrong. They are always acting like it's a pain in the butt when I got ask for my refund. no matter how little it is, but hey, they should get their act together and have everythingwork right.

I love the Passporter - that was like my "Bible" during planning and I even used it daily at the parks.

I planned our first trip for a year and borrowed various books from friends, got some from the library and quite a few off of paperbackswap and I didn't like any of them as much as I liked Passporter.

One of the things I love best in it are the maps - so much better then the maps the parks give you. I hate how everying is numbered on them - makes it harder to find things and the passporter maps are so clearly labled with no looking back and forth, etc...like the park maps. I also love how it has the most updated info especially about the restaurants. Love that it is getting close to lunch and I can whip it out and DH and I look at the quick service locations and make a quick decision.
