We're planning a trip in Feb 08 and I'm looking into booking through a travel planner, which I've never done before (except for AAA). Which of the Disney speciality agencies is your favorite & why? Thanks!!!

Welcome to the DIS, jellieo! I'm going to move this to the Resorts Board so that you'll get more responses to your question.

Happy planning!

I use Dreams Unlimited Travel (and have for at least 5 or 6 trips)

1. They are ALWAYS on top of any discounts or specials, and I never have to worry about it

2. Calling Disney from the West Coast is a huge pain, so I love that they handle all of that for me. I've gotten Illumination cruises, breakfast at the Castle..all sorts of hard to book things, and they've done all the work!

3. They sponsor these boards, which I am always grateful for--not just for the disney info, but all of the community/off topic boards. I spend WAY to much time here, and using their service helps me give back where I can.

Love 'em!

I will second Dreams Unlimited! I have gone through them for the past 3 years and it has been great. I love that they make all of your ADRs and keep checking for discounts. They are very friendly and quick to respond to questions. Their printable itinerary is very nice too.

I am torn about next years reservation...AAA looks good because I would be more likely to snag a discount on a package, but I would be giving up all the benefits that DU offers.

This is my third time using Small World Vacations, and they have been fantastic. They only do Disney, moniter your reservation for discounts, book your ADR's. They have always been very informative and professional, and answer phone calls and emails very quickly. I highly recommend them.

I am working with Magical Vacations for the fourth time and I am delighted with their service, as usual. My agent books my dining reservations, airport transfers (Magical Express and private transport), tickets for special events, park tickets, and of course room reservations. She continuously monitors my reservation and automatically applies codes when they come out. She has saved me hundreds of dollars! She is very accessible and responsive via phone and e-mail.

Magical Vacations books Disney and Universal. There are nice gifts for people who book at deluxe resorts.

We use MouseEarVacations.com (a division of Cruising Co). We have used them about five times now and they have been absolutely terrific and very accommodating with all the changes we have made from time to time.

Does Dreams Unlimited give you a phone number for contacting them after booking, or can you only contact thru email? Will they do what they can to get you "hard to get" dining reservations?

BTW, thanks for all the great responses so far!!

AAA for me. They were the cheapest by far when we planned our trip. I had no problemns with them. If I found a cheaper route in the future, I would definately consider using it, but I got the best deal through AAA. I am one who wanted to do most of the planning myslef though too. I did all my own airline and reservations for dining, but AAA can do that as well too.

This is my first time going to WDW and I am using SWV also. So far I like them, they were on top of the discounts, and would've made my ADRs for me also, but honestly, I didnt want that in anyone else hands so I did the ADR's myself. I agree on the promptness of them getting back to you. Heck I just got an email a few minutes ago (9am on SUNDAY) I like that!

Another vote for Dreams Unlimited, especially Sue Ellen. She always goes the extra mile for me. I actually will book everything myself (I'm anal) and then turn the reservation over to her, that's how strongly I feel about them. :)

We've been very happy with Small World Vacations too for our last 2 trips! I have always gotten discounts applied right away. Next time I think we will try Dreams Unlimited because they are a DIS sponsor. I like the fact that I don't have to sit on the phone with Disney, especially when codes come out! They are great at getting my ADRs set up too!

I have use Small World vacations for the last 4 years. I am very pleased. Marion, my TA is very good. I have phone, adress, fax and email to reach her if necessary. She returns email and phone calls quickly. She will do ADRs, gets good discounts, and tries to answer any questions I may have. I would highly recommend SWV.

I've used Magical Journey's for 2x trips this year and Deb is wonderful! She answers all of my e-mails promptly and, most importantly, is thorough in her recommendations. She always tries her hardest to save me money. I used to self-book but MJ is so good it's one less thing I have to worry about. They're handling mine and my sister's trip to the AKL for Christmas this year!

:thumbsup2 for MJ!

At this moment, I am using Dreams Unlimited for our trip in December. At first I was hesitant about using a TA for the first time. Usually I book everything myself, but for something this big, I need a specialist.

So far, I am very happy with their service. They booked my trip with the Visa discount and now they are in the process of booking ADRs. I just received an email this (Sunday) morning notifying me that they are continuing to work on them.

Looks like we will be using Pixie Dust Vacations as they also include air travel in their packages. Dreams do not offer this service, which is not a big deal, but we just want to keep everything simple and with one agency. We are also on the West Coast, so with everything to keep in mind on such a big trip we wanted the complete package.
