I have never stayed at any of the Disney Resorts, but have gone to Disney many times, just stayed off site everytime.

In May 2004, I am graduating with my Masters degree (only took me 6 years!!). As a graduation present, my wonderful husband is taking me to see the MOUSE and I can pick any Disney hotel to stay in!!! :earsgirl:

I am sooooo excited about it, but am now soooo lost as to which one I should pick. HELP!!

Which one do you recommend? I would greatly appreciate your thought!!

Congratulations on your upcoming Masters degree!

As far as which Disney resort to stay in, I suggest looking at pictures of them all and reading about what they offer and stay with what theme appeals to you. All the resorts are excellent IMHO and they all have different themes of which some may appeal to you and others don't. You can find pictures and descriptions here on The Dis and also on Deb Wills site - www.wdwig.com. Have fun looking and deciding.

I have stayed in Caribbean Beach Resort, the Dolphin, All Star Movies, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've scoped out most of the other hotels on property. My absolute favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of course, we are all big animal lovers, and it was a treat for the kids and me to be able to sit on the balcony and watch animals while dh got ready in the mornings. (It takes him a long time to get moving, coiffed, and ready to go. LOL Longer than it takes me.) I also just love the wonderful aroma inside AKL: combination of all the Boma/Jiko cooking aromas and maybe something from the indoor fire pit that is burning all the time. I keep telling dh I wish Disney would create an air freshener and car air freshener with that scent so I could experience it all the time.

I wouldn't mind staying at CBR again, and I'd also like to sometime check out Port Orleans, the Beach Club, and Wilderness Lodge. My only problem is I love AKL so much I don't know if I'll be able to make myself stay anywhere else. Unless the budget just absolutely demands it.

I would suggest you do your research, look at pictures, and the vacation videos to get some idea of what to expect. The All Stars are great, but if money isn't a problem I like the cabins at Fort Wilderness. The atmosphere is soooo relaxing. However, the transportation isn't as good as at some other resorts. The Polynesian is very serene as well. I love to hear the breezes in the stands of bamboo, and at night it's nice to walk along the paths lit with the torches. And of course, being on the monorail line is great. I personally didn't care that much for the Contemporary. There seemed to be a current of energy there that made me want to rush. My husband on the other hand loved it. The Caribean Beach was o.k. but we had our own car each time we stayed there so we didn't have to wait a lot for the buses. Same goes for Port Orleans. When we stayed at the Yacht and Beach Club, we found it was frustrating to get around because we were using a Wheelchair and not all exits were accessable. Hopefully, they have solved that problem. We have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge but visited there, and it seemed to have the same problem. Can't afford the Grand Floridian, but the decor and atmosphere is great too. Whereever you go I'm sure it will be wonderful and you will make lots of happy memories.
