Which Disney Resort Based SOLELY on Food Selections?

DW and I are bandying about each other's ideas regarding where to stay the first week of our two week, first-ever Christmas trip to WDW in December '07, as our second week is a definite stay at AKL (and, Mods, if this would be more suited for the resorts board, I apologize, and would you mind moving it? ), and we pretty much have it narrowed down (if you could properly call the following list "narrow") to these resorts: the Poly, CR, WL, BWI, YC/BC, or POR/FQ. And I thought it might be interesting to hear about each of the above resorts' merits, based solely on their food selections.

As an example, having stayed at AKL before, we know that, while the table service selections (Boma and Jiko) are out of this world, the overall food selection is a bit limited, with the Mara quick-service the only other available breakfast selection after Boma, and the only lunch selection (I know, I'm not counting room service, as it's too pricey in most cases, and not all that interesting to us). Furthermore, we'll be flying down (me for the first time :scared1: ) and will be utilizing Magical Express and not renting a car, so it'll be a bit of a chore to make a spur-of-the-moment lunch trip, say, to anywhere outside of our resort.

Anyway, what I'm looking for is lots and lots of opinions! :) And, as always, thanks, very much, in advance!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Personally, I would pick the Poly as I LOVE that resort. You have monorail access so it wouldn't be hard to eat at the GF, CR, MK or even Epcot. Plus, I think 'Ohana is wonderful!

I say BWI lots of choices where to dine. BC was limited to me. Never stayed at the others. Have fun!!

I love the Boardwalk...your choice of dining is immediatly not limited because you have walking access to atleat 3 other resorts! Beach Club, The Dolphin, The Swan, and The Yacht Club is a little further, but walkable. I would stay at Boardwalk out of those though cuz I love the atmosphere and it probably has the most selections for dining. For sit down meals at this resort, you have the Big River Brewing Works ( a little more casual), ESPN Club (very casual and great for a sports lover!), Flying Fish (expensive but wonderful selections), and Spoodles (I've eaten there before and loved it...I'd say this is more moderatly priced). There's also a bakery and the aroma of fresh baked goods and coffee is mesmerizing in the morning (the best wake up call!) To add to that is are a couple of kiosks set up on the boardwalk for snacks or quick service items such as Boardwalk To Go offering hot dogs, chicken sandwhich, chicken strips, sausage, fries, chilli, etc...If you would like to look at some of the resort menus for yourself, you can go to www.allearsnet.com and click on dining and then go to resort menus! Good Luck!

Beach Club. Quick walk to the World Showcase, plus you have the restaurants at the Yacht and Beach Club. And you can go to the Boardwalk if you want!

The Boardwalk is almost as close to Epcot as the Beach Club, but if you stay there it gets annoying to not have a restaurant in the hotel. You have to go outside unless you order room service. But if that doesn't bug YOU, then it doesn't matter much. :)

I would have to say any of the Epcot area resorts. They have easy access to world showcase restaurants as well as the surrounding resort eating options. :thumbsup2

Thanks, all of you, for taking the time to reply. You know, I don't know why I never thought of it myself before, but any of the EPCOT resorts would have to be tops, again, based solely on the sheer wealth of dining selections. But, then again, any of the monorail resorts would be pretty good to stay at, as well, and only slightly less convenient (as waiting for a monorail, I guess, could become almost as tedious as waiting for a bus).

I dunno. I think DW is fairly sold on staying at the Poly for the first week (and, obviously, staying at the Poly's not exactly abhorrent to me, either), but, for me, there is quite an allure to staying at either the YC/BC or BWI. Or the Poly. Or the Wilderness Lodge, for that matter. Ah, well. We've got plenty of time to make up our minds, don't we?
