There are just the 2 of us and we have never been to either place. This is our arrival night for dinner after a day at the spa. DH said the menu at both places sounds good. Transportation is not an issue because we will have our car.

I voted for Ohana because you're going to have a nice relaxing day at the spa. Having people bring your food to you is more relaxing than getting up for the buffet (IMO). Also, I personally find Polynesian more relaxing than AK and you can always catch Wishes from the beach after dinner (with the music piped in).

The overall experience would probably be better at the Poly.

If you're just looking for a good food experience - you may be better off at Boma.

Be sure to let us know what you decide!!

I voted for 'Ohana because I love meat and I'm not a very adventurous foodie. DH would vote for Boma in a heartbeat though because he loves to try new things.

We ate at both places on our last trip. I saw too many unsupervised children at the Boma buffet. Actually saw a child pick up food and put it back(with her paws). Saw a mother pick up cookies(with her paws) and put them back....yuk....
We had a great meal at Ohana and great view of castle.

Ooh this is too close, anyone else??

They are so different. One is one of the best buffets in WDW IMHO, and the other is a nice full service sit down with some entertainment. Personally, I prefer the food at Boma. In fact, after eating at some of the nicest Brazillian BBQ and Mongolian BBQ's, I'm sort of disappointed with Ohana's skewers. Still, food is so personal, as one person's "ratatouille" is another's plain vegtable stew. My vote is for Boma unless you didn't know it was a buffet and don't like those things. Plus you can go out after dinner and see the animals with night vision equipment.

I voted for 'Ohana because, frankly, the menu at Boma does not appeal to me at all.

Boma is my choice. I don't care for too many buffets, but Boma is really good. It is the only buffet I really like. Lots of interesting choices, but lots of regular items if you are not adventurous.

Ohana is OK, but the service can be lacking. In my experience, you can wait a LOOOOng time for them to come back with the skewers of meat. Plus, I find the meat to be tough and overcooked.

Boma's all the way! Ohana's is not relaxing with the children racing around with coconuts and hula hooping. I also found the food gross and dried out at ohana's .

I moved the post to the Restaurant Board where it will get more exposure.

I voted for Boma. I am not a fan of 'ohana at all. I have had poor to horrible service repeatedly and the food has been not good. (mealy shrimp, grisly meat, surly server)

'Ohana is not what it used to be. :sad2:

Boma is much better, in my experience. We have had great meals and excellant service there. Plus, the AKL is just an experience in itself.

I do choose carefully at buffets. Not everyone is well versed in dining etiquette (no, you may not lick the spoon then put it back no, never actually saw that, and if I did, that tray would be removed as soon as i could grab a cast member and drag him over!)

Boma! I think it's quieter than Ohana & probably nicer for adults....

Easy question! Boma. Better food, better service, nicer hotel to visit. :thumbsup2
