Which dinner would you choose - Le Cellier or Be Our Guest?

Hi all,

I was able to snag a ressie for Be Our Guest this summer. But i'm thinking of cancelling it and instead changing it to dinner at Le Cellier (there is a time open the same night). (We have park hoppers so in terms of what park, that's not a deciding factor.)

I'm hesitant to cancel BOG since it's so hard to get - but if I don't grab that Le Cellier one soon, i'm sure it will be gone.

My DD loves BOG, she really enjoys seeing the beast and eating in the enchanted rose room.

Personally I feel the food at BOG is just ok. Nothing to write home about.

I want to make my decision in terms of which one will be the better meal (we are eating OOP / no dining plan).

You're trying to compare an apple with a bottle of soy sauce.

The only thing that they have in common is that they're food. Other than that, they attract a very diverse crowd, and they don't really overlap. Le Cellier is a signature, and (VERY) arguably, one of the better steakhouses at WDW. Be Our Guest is a standard TS restaurant with theming that's completely out of this world, but food that's better than Disney average, but nothing mind-blowing.

So this is something that we can argue about all day.

This is tough...but I think I'd pick Le Cellier, just because I've never eaten there before and we've done BOG several times for all three meal times.

I always say I'm finished with BOG but get sucked back in though, and end up there anyway!

our last experience at Le Cellier was not good at all.

if you are looking to get a soup and a steak , then I would say you are making a good comparison.

Our last visit having had both restaurants,

a) Le Cellier Cheese soup is amazing. ah-maze-ing Did not have the soup at BOG
b) the steak at BOG was much better than the one at Le Cellier.

Granted, that was our experience that night. most people love Le Cellier (and i have in the past) but for 2 table credits, I am not going back this time .

Could you try and get lunch at BOG for DD to eat in rose room (no Beast of course) and try out LeCellier for dinner? My DH and DS recommend the mushroom filet!

I would stick with BOG. I think the food there is better as well as the theming and atmosphere. The fact that you have a young daughter that loves it seals the deal.
Let Cellier is average food and less than average setting.

We love LC - so it wins every time. I spent a while debating fitting in a BOG dinner on our next trip - but ended up deciding to skip it (we do have breakfast and lunch reservations). DD said she wanted Skipper's Canteen instead - she loves puns.

I have an ADR for Le Cellier in November. It will be my first time eating there.
I did not even try for Be our Guest for either October or November.

I don't think the food is particularly great at either, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Le Cellier. There are a few more standout options on the menu, while Be Our Guest relies so heavily on its setting and atmosphere.

I think LeCellier is a total rip-off. Other than supply and demand of tables, there is nothing about the food, atmosphere or service worth the prices they are asking.

OTOH, I am thrilled to be able to try BOG for dinner next trip. I just snagged an ADR, and we will use it to celebrate a 2 year-old's birthday there. EasyWDW has a nice recent review about it too that you should read.

I would choose BOG over LC any day. I was not impressed with LC at all, and that was when it was a one credit meal. The cost has increased to reflect that it is not 2 credits, so I definitely would not go.

If you do not want the theme of BOG, but are looking for a nice meal, I suggest that with the exception of Tiffin's in DAK, you avoid the parks. There are nice restaurants in the resorts that are far superior to LC or BOG. For an inpark dining experience I would say Tiffins is hands down one of the best onsite.

Le Cellier has better food (even though I'd rank it at the bottom of signatures) whereas BOG is better bang for the buck (or dining credit), especially when you factor in atmosphere/theming.

FWIW, I think the best theme park restaurant in WDW is Monsieur Paul. But it's expensive and some people find it stuffy and un-kid friendly.

If it were me? Le Cellier, hands down. The signature filet is a must-have eat for us every trip.

I don't actually like any of the MK restaurants for much more than experience/atmosphere. I will admit BOG has this down in droves, especially because you can't get in unless you eat there, but it sounds like you've already done it and seem ready for a change. Have you eaten at Le Cellier before? If you have not, I would do it just on that principle. Rather than us tell you how the food was (as you'll get many differing opinions), you can find out for yourself!

I've never done dinner at BoG, but the bfast and lunch we've had there is meh. And one of those times we didn't get to pick the room we sat in, the only space available was in the library, which just isn't worth it. I wouldn't chance missing out on Le Cellier (YUM) and then not getting to eat in the room she really likes. I'd try for a lunch at BoG. The bfast prices are outrageous and not worth it, but the lunch prices seem to be a lot more reasonable and the food is alright.

Le Cellier is one of my favorite restaurants!

Our experience at LC is its a very good steak house.
We've had a good lunch and supper at BOG, but this month my wife and daughter ate at BOG for lunch and were extremely disappointed. Bad start to finish.
I read more reports of disappointing food at BOG. It is beautiful inside and if the food has dropped off, that is unfortunate.
Having done both for supper, I would go with LC.

Given that your daughter is all about meeting the beast, BoG.

Le cellier would be more a date night thing, and even then, there is pretty much no where on Disney property that I would consider worth those prices (if we use quality of food as the ONLY criteria)

I would stick with BOG. There is a certain sort of magic to MK as the sun sets and the park lighting slowly takes center stage. Just relax, hop on the railroad at main street all the way back to fantasyland and ignore/avoid crowds.

Plus, your daughter loves the beast.

We are doing both! Fortunately we are on the dining plan so it was a no brainer for us!

So we did BOG breakfast and loved it. It was the best start to the holiday! Then we did Le Cellier for a late lunch. We didn't get steak though. Lots of starters and sides. The cheese soup, poutine, asparagus and a few other things. Was amazing and filling.

But BOG is definitely more magical. I definitely would want to do breakfast there again, not as fussed about Le Cellier, so maybe try for BOG breakfast? Le Cellier dinner?

Neither are great for me. I'd go with Le Cellier. if I had to pick one.
