I am looking at getting a digital camera for my upcoming trip to WDW. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want something that will take lots of pics and last all day if not all week. I also do not want a very large camera. One that I can carry easily in my waistpack. Please let me know your success with your camera and which type.

There are some other links you can check, but I would ABSOLUTELY recommend any of the Canon Elph Powershot series --- durable, small, idiot-proof, not too expensive --- you won't go wrong

We have a Kodak CX7530 which we love. Very easy to use and carry, and excellent results.

I have an Olympus, I think D580. Consumer Reports gave them a great review. I also hear Sony is good. Talk to a salesperson at Best Buy or somewhere, they're very helpful with finding the best you want for your budget. I would highly recommend getting rechargable batteries- the cameras sure can drain them! I'm taking mine to Disney, plus buying disposables for back ups. Good luck!

Just bought a Canon A510 and 2x512Mb SD cards. Its 3MP which will be fine as I dont plan on doing massive prints just the usual holiday snap stuff. Got a GB of storage so I plan to be click happy and sort though the photos when I get back. With that much storage I'll also be able to take some short video clips of rides etc.

This camera was voted 2nd best on this site http://www.imaging-resource.com/WB/WB.HTM

Digital Camera's are numerous... Which makes it a tough buy these days.
I recently bought a new camera that I am very happy with.
Its a Casio Exilim EX-Z55. Its 5 megapixel and smaller than a deck of cards. (fits in the pocket really nice) and has a rechargable battery.
I purchased a 1 gig memory card for it, and I can go to Disney without needing to download and can carry the camera with out feeling like I am lugging another bag around. :)

As with many things your Mileage May Vary,
Digital Cameras are expensive and personal, please take your time and buy the one that feels comfy for you.

I like to go to local electronic's stores that have cameras on display and try to get a feel for them, before I purchase one. :)

Have fun!

I have a Canon Powershot s230 (it is a 3.2. maga pixal, over 2 years old now.) We love it and have taken 1,000 of great shots with it. Only a few complants, the zoom and flash are a little weak. They fixed it on the newer models currenlty for sale. We did a lot of online research before buying it. We are extremly happy with it.

My best friend bought this one last year, but it was $400 then, that is what I paid too btw.

Then my sister in law got the same one.

A few weeks ago I bought it for my dad for only 229 at staples. It is being discountined so it was a good price. The next steps up just as good too, but most people don't need 5 maga pixels. More maga pixels the more memory it takes up, but cards are so cheap now a days that doesn't seem to mater much.

good luck. I can't say enough good things about it.

It everything you are looking for, and amazon has the leather case for it for less then $10!

We had a nikon coolshot or something like that. We HATED it. So slow, not very good pictures. We bought it at costco and they let us take it back, like after 6 months! I love costco that way. I bought my new camcorder there for that reason.
