Hi
We are visiting from Australia, and I will need to stock up on diapers. Which brand are the best? I want to avoid being confronted by the huge ranges at the supermarket - and DH will get mad if I stand there and read all the packets. So, I thought I would ask you guys for some recommendations. Diapers are for DS 18 months (23.5lbs) and DD who is nearly 3, and will only need a night nappy. I would prefer to pay for a premium brand, and not have to worry about leaks and accidents.
Thanks

I prefer Pampers Cruisers for my children. My kids are tall and the Huggies are too short for my girls. Have a great time!

I am a pampers person too. I don't know why but for some reason my kids both had major leakage problems with the huggies, and they never seemed to stay closed on my DS. I never had a problem with pampers and they never ever fell off. My SIL always used huggies and I can't tell you how many times her girls leaked all over their clothes. However I have always used the pull-ups as opposed to the pampers version of the training pants. I have no idea why, probably because when I was training my DS pampers didn't make a pull-up type of training pant so that just stuck with me.

We like Pampers cruisers too! I dont recommend the Pampers swaddlers (yellow package), my little boy wets right thru those!

A vote for Pampers Baby-Dry here! :thumbsup2 Definitely the Pampers brand. I like the Baby-dry, rather than the Cruisers b/c of the lining on the inside...the cruisers that I tried were a wide mesh, and it kind of stuck to my son's skin. ew. But any Pampers are better than Huggies...which are better than Luvs!!!

Another Pampers Cruiser mommy here.
But for nighttime, Huggies makes a brand just for the night so they are more absobent. They say night on the package.
Have a great trip.

I was always loyal to Pampers Cruisers. Now that my dd is 3 and only wears a diaper at night, we have to use the Huggies Nighttime diapers because she was peeing through Cruisers even after I sized up.

We used to be a Pampers Cruisers family until Huggies came out with the Supreme "Natural Fit" option. It is far less bluky than the Cruisers, and I've yet to run into a leak. My son is *very* tall for his age, and the Huggies SNF shape offered a much better coverage than the older version.

I'm located in Canada, but assume this version is available in the US!

another vote for pampers cruisers and for the nighttime ones I would have to say pull-ups-also by pampers.

I work at a daycare center so I do lots of diaper changes! The parents supply the diapers, so I see a lot of different brands in action. By far my favorite is Pampers Cruisers.

I'm usually a cloth girl, but when I need disposables, Huggies work well for my chunky monkey :)

Wow - thanks guys. I didn't realise how many choices there were. Looks like Pampers Cruisers are the favourite!

I am glad I asked the question, as I would have brought Huggies, as they are the best here in Australia.

Cheers

I'm with the odd few who like Huggies best. We use the Supreme Natrual Fit someone else mentioned for daytime wear and Overnights for, you guessed it, overnight! I don't like the weird mesh liner in the Pampers Cruisers and though I like the Baby Dry well enough, they get super puffy/squishy and feel damp on the outside when my son pees in them. Not matter how much he pees, the Huggies Supreme always feel much drier and he seems more comfortable in them.

Because I have tried everything on my chunky baby, heavy wetter, and I like Luvs by far the best! They recently redesigned them and they are better than before, because I did not like them much when she was a younger baby (she's 21 months now).

I like Huggies better than Pampers for premium brands. I find Pampers to have a slimmer cut to them, which doesn't work as well on chunky babies. My little one has chubby thighs and a BIG belly.

On my older daughter, it never mattered what brand I used, as she was so slim and not a heavy wetter. I always was able to use off brands with her, which was soooo nice!

Sp it really does depend on how big, chunky, tall, etc. your baby is, and whether they're heavy wetters. I don't think one single diaper brand is going to suit everyone's needs!

I would say if you like Huggies in Australia, then buy that brand once you arrive in the states. You would think they'd be the same diaper in both countries....of course anything is possible, though, so you might want to check into that first!

I've got a slim 4 mo girl, and we're still a Huggies family. I liked them best for my DS, and after re-trying Pampers, I still do. For me the issue is breastmilk BM's; the Pampers seem to spring more leaks around the sides and especially up the back, unless you fold under the back edge as a containment field, which I found difficult to do on my squirmer. The Pampers also seem to run really long, which makes them swim on DD when purchased by weight -- they are almost up to her armpits.

I think everyone has their own personal preference in diapers. For a 3 year old at night, I would recommend the Huggies brand Nighttime Pullups (they are relatively new and just for night). My DS wears these, I think they're better for an older child than a diaper.

My DD wears Huggies. They do not have any scent to them. Pampers and Luvs both have a scent.
