Which Deluxe Resort??

We only came back a couple of weeks ago and in that 'depressed' mode of not being there...

We have no plans (at the moment) to go back, however, I'm daydreaming of going back. We stayed at POFQ (2nd time) and loved it. We've also stayed at CBR and liked that as well.

However, in my daydream, we are staying at a Deluxe....my question is which of these 3, would you pick and why. I know one of the advantages to the Poly is he monorail but why else should we stay there? or one of the others?

We always vote for WL. Something about walking into to the lobby puts me in a great mood and I feel like I am on vacation. The CM's have always been wonderful, the pool is great, access to the water mice or whatever they are now and the bikes is great. It all comes down to your personality. Our second favorite resort is POFQ. They both to me have the same homey feel.

My favorite is the Boardwalk Inn. We think it has an elegant yet fun atmosphere. Beautiful, spacious rooms. Great views even in the standards. Fun pool with the Keister Coaster slide shaped like a small wooden roller coaster. Great location right in Epcot's backyard, lots to do, many choices in restaurants around Crescent Lake including ESPN (my DH and DS love that place ). Very relaxing to walk out the back entrance to Epcot and take a 5 minute stroll to your hotel, or ride a Friendship boat if you are tired. The boats take you to MGM as well in the other direction, or you could walk it in about 15 - 20 minutes. Rent a surrey bike for 2-6 and ride around the lake, ringing your annoying bell and trying not to run anyone over!

We love it there!

AKL.

The others are nice hotels, but you don't see Zebras, Kudos and Giraffes out your window.... I LOVE AKL!!!

My parents would say WL because they love going to the mountains, camping, etc. Mine is definitely Poly. I love the tropical feel and at night walking around all of the torch lit walkways with the beautiful lush landscaping and island music playing down the walkways. Very relaxing and you truly feel like you're in a different world. Also (I don't know if this has changed since they put in the new pool area) but they have underwater hawaiian music! (Which I think all of the resorts should have because it adds such a magical touch). I like WL, but I love Poly. We've visited AKL but never stayed there. I still think I would stay at Poly or WL first and maybe one day I'll stay at AKL.

I haven't stayed at the AKL. Waiting for kids to get a little older. I have stayed at WL, Poly, and BC and going to BWI in February. Here are my humble opinions.
Loved WL -great price - loved the boat to MK/lobby/theming - thought the rooms were small - I want to stay there again in the winter months (so I can enjoy the fireplaces).
Loved Poly - room was huge! - monorail yes! - really felt kid oriented - loved renting the watermice with DS 4 - loved watching wishes and electric water pagent from the beach - the castle looks very very cool at night
BC - loved SAB - so so loved our room - more things to do at night, not such an isolated feeling that some of the other resorts have
BWI - hoping it will be fantastic!!
All the resorts are great! What ever you decide is right for your family will be the "one".

I think it depends on where you plan on spending most of your time. MK? Either Poly or WL or CR. Epcot/MGM? Pick one of the Epcot resorts, BW or YC/BC.

We enjoyed AKL, but for us it just seemed so far from everything except AK. I know for some people that's the appeal, but we didn't care for it (we did think the lodge was very well themed and the savannah view room was nice).

Beach Club (Villas) is my favorite! Followed closely by Wilderness Lodge. Me personally - I am a night owl, so I sometimes like to find late-night "out of the way" places to curl up with a book so I don't keep anybody else in the family awake with a reading light. Beach Club Villa's Solarium / Drawing Room / Breezeway areas are great for that (sometimes other people are there, sometimes not - I'm talking about 2:00-4:00am). Wilderness Lodge has nice, quiet reading/gathering areas off the grand lobby on a couple of the upper floors.

Beach Club is so close to Epcot's World Showcase and Disney Studios, and it's right across the lagoon from the Boardwalk - I feel like I'm in the middle of everything there in regards to (early - say 9:00-midnight) nightlife. Wilderness Lodge feels more secluded to me. Both resorts have great pools - I think Stormalong Bay gets the nod. Both resorts have great dining - Cape May vs. Whispering Canyon - hmmmm - it's a toss-up .

Early mornings (we're usually up around 6:30 or so - I don't get or need very much sleep ) we're usually at a park, so can't tell you much about morning stuff at either resort.

I will give some props to Old Key West too. I feel like I'm in my own little village, and it feels much less crowded than it probably actually is. Haven't been to their renovated pool yet (will be there in a couple of weeks).
