My sweet fiancé and I are trying to choose a resort for our January honeymoon. We're spending the first night at AKL because we love the animals but don't want to spend the whole trip in such an isolated area. I think we've narrowed the remaining nights down to either the Poly, Contemporary, or Beach Club. Ordinarily it would be a no brainer because I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, but the construction rumors have us worried. We don't want to pay that price to be in the middle of extensive construction and have the resort lose some of it's magic. What are your suggestions on a good choice for a good mix between romance and fun?

I personally love the Beach Club, especially if you are planning on spending a lot of time at Epcot, the location can't be beat. I love the Boardwalk area, there's lots of restaurant choices and I love being able to walk to Epcot and HS. I also love the BC pool.

Poly construction would have me worried and I didn't like the Contemporary as much as the Beach Club.

Well I guess it depends on what you plan during your visit to WDW. I like Beach Club for the proximity to Epcot and the great pool at the resort. I also like Poly but if there is planned construction I understand why you want to skip staying at this resort but you should call to confirm. I have never stayed at Contemporary but I have stayed next door at Bay Lake Tower and I enjoy the proximity to Magic Kingdom and watching the fireworks from my room.

Poly is my personal favorite and is super romantic at night but I understand your concerns about the construction. Because of that, I would go with the Beach Club but make sure you go over to the Poly one night for a walk around the resort and Wishes on the Beach :goodvibes

the Bc is great walking to Epcot and boating or walking to Studios.

of course that depends - are you spend the majority of your stay at MK, Epcot or Studios.

if the MK - then would go with CR/BLT - walking to the MK can't be beat.

DH and I had our honeymoon at AKL and really enjoyed it! I am a real animal lover and overall it was a great experience. I know in Disney terms it is isolated, but it actually isn't THAT far from the action. However, if you like the idea of being able to walk to Epcot and DHS, then I would recommend BC. Also, the pool at BC can't be beat!
