If you could choose any deluxe resort to stay at which resort would it be and why?

I would go with the Polynesian. First of all is the location - monorail, Magic Kingdom, beach, etc. Second for me is the history - there is something magical to me in staying at one of the resorts that I always dreamed of staying at as a 9 year old in 1971. Finally, with kids of our own, the Polynesian is definitely the closest resort to our current family interests.

A close second someday would be the Yacht and Beach Club - mostly because I've heard great things about it and the proximity to EVERYTHING would be terrific.

All of them! Am a DVC member now as I prefer having a kitchen etc with the kids but, I still intend to try a couple of nights in the deluxes I haven't tried - Contemporary, GF and AKL.

My favourite so far has been WL - it is the one I have stayed at the most but, I enjoyed all the others too for a variety of reasons and hope some of them help u make your choice.

I love WL most for the theming, atmosphere and boat ride to the Magic Kingdom.

BC for it's proximity to the Boardwalk and walk to Epcot and the luxurious touches in the hotel - especially the room service - it is the best I have had.

The Poly, for it's theming and friendly atmosphere and transportation choices and also it's huge rooms and the monorail of course.

Hope this helps. I would also like to try GF for it's luxuriousness and proximity to the Magic Kingdom and the onsite spa; the Contemp - I would like to try a tower room for the views of the castle and being close to great restaurants; the Animal Kingdom for it's themeing and views of all the animals.

The only one I don't want to try is the Boardwalk Inn. I have heard it is fabulous for couples - the only reason I don't want to try it is because I would want to stay at the villas there instead.

Good look choosing. I really think you can't go wrong. Just think about the ages of the people in your party and what parks, facilities etc you would like to be closest to and the type of theming you would prefer.

I would definately stay at the Polynesian. Ever since I first set eyes on it several years ago, I always thought how cool it would be to stay there. The tropics, the cool pools, seven seas lagoons, the themes, the monorail, everything is perfect!

Polynesian!
I just absolutely love it there! The atmosphere, the view, the food, location, monorail service, pool, etc...everything is just perfect for me.

What a difficult question!!!

I tend to be drawn to most of them for various reasons, and depending with whom I am vacationing, as well as budget.

If it was just me and DH, then I would probably choose Boardwalk or Grand Floridian. Both are convenient to the parks, and are a little more adult feeling in theme.

If I were there for a quick vacation where convenience was my ultimate goal, and wanted the largest room I could find, I would choose the Contemporary.

If we were going to spend most of our time at MGM and Epcot, and lounging around the pool with DD, then I would definitely choose the Beach or Yacht Club.

If we were going for a good amount of time and MK and Epcot were the focus... and we wanted to feel relaxed at the same time, I would choose the Polynesian.

If we had a rental car and were going in the winter months, I would probably be tempted by the AKL.

If DH was going by himself (yeah, that'll happen!;)), then he could stay at the WL.

My vote would be for Wilderness Lodge. My kids loved the pool with the geyser erupting and the stream entering the lobby with the bridge crossing it. Architecture is beautiful. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. The boat ride to MK is not to be missed if possible. On our last trip we did the character breakfast again at Artist Point because we wanted to revisit WL.
I believe it just depends on your tastes & preferences. Enjoy!

SusieQ, the character meal at Artist's Point no longer exists as of early last summer. The Pooh Characters are now at 1900 Park Faire for dinner.

Oh no!! Thanks for letting me know. We last were there January 2001 and are headed back in July. Too bad. We really enjoyed those breakfasts.

Well, I guess someone has to speak up for AKL!

We choose this one because we love African animals and the unique atmosphere. Being a tropical islander myself, the Polynesian has to be next!

Hands down.......... YC! Gorgeous resort, great location, great food options. Decor in the rooms is bright and airy!

Polynesian!

The Epcot area deluxes just don't impress me much, (PERSONAL opinion). Transportation options and location of AKL and WL just aren't to my liking, for a deluxe. Grand Floridian?...Nice place to visit, but just don't want to stay there. I'll be trying the Contemporary in 10 days, I'll let you know if I change my mind....

BWI everytime. Service is superb, rooms are light and spacious, location is perfect (walk to MGM and Epcot), it is my kids favourite pool ( SAB at BC far too crowded). It has come tops for us out of all the deluxe resorts and is the only one we've revisited. Roll-on August!!!!

Bob NC, will, be interested in hearing your comments about the Contemporary Resort. We, DD, and 2 grandchildren will be there in Oct. I stayed there with my children and my mother back in the 70's, now I am the grandmother staying with my daughter and grandkids. We, have stayed at the BC, Poly and the AKL in recent years, (BC and Poly just me and DH), but will return to CR to relive some old memories and just have a great time. Haven't been there in soooo long will look forward to your comments:)

We love the Epcot resorts because there is so much to do but we stay at BWV all the time so when we go to a deluxe resort our choice is always the Poly. Just love this resort and my kids love the new pool. Even my 3 yo had a blast on the new pool slide.

The Polynesian for all the reasons listed before me. :D

I would be happy with any of the Epcot deluxe resorts, but my first choice would be a 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk. Not only because it's so spacious, but also because of the laundry and I love to overlook the Boardwalk.
