Which deluxe resort has the best pool area?

I think one thing that Disers agree on (and probably the only thing ) is that SAB is the best. Aside from that, it is a matter of personal taste and preference.

I like WL the best, a cozier beautifully landscaped pool very creatively done. Was totally relaxing. Of the rest, AKL is a large pool, but the landscape hides the large amount of seating, nice theming but not our favorite pool. I know the POLY volcano slide is cool, but I thought the pool was small and the area around it was too tight for me, BWI's Luna Park is a great fun in theming and with kids I don't think you can go wrong, GF did nothing for me, and I have only seen CR in pictures and it did nothing for me creatively.

My family actually does not care for the type of pool that is Storm Along Bay. I think comparing it to a mini water park is a bit of a stretch, myself. The pool at our hotel in Hawaii was similar and my son was not impressed. For fun pools, he likes a "pool", not a meandering lagoon. His favorites are Port Orleans and Wilderness Lodge. In terms of atmosphere and location, I love Wilderness Lodge. You don't have to walk far to the bar, it's nice to look around, the hot tub is right there, and it's beautiful at night.

I vote for SAB. I don't think anything comes close and considering it is the only "pool" that Disney has fenced off to keep visitors out I would say that it is the most popular.


Other then that they are all just pools to me. I don't have kids and don't do slides often (I don't enjoy standing in line with your kids LOL!)

Some of the deluxe resorts, I think POLY and GF, don't have hot tubs. I think the Grotto pool (S/D) is second best. It's colder than the Disney pools. Other than that POLY, WL, AKL and BWI are good choices. Really CR is the only deluxe without a great pool.

Grand Floridian has a hot tub.

I think the BC has the best pool for little kids. The sand pool is so great. My DD loved it!

I think all the pools are great. We loved the pool over at the ASM too. Disney knows how to do it well.

The BC pool is so big and meandering it is hard to keep your eye on more than one kid.

The line for the slide was long and there were no seats available.

Sorry, but I'm not a SAB lover.

OK, I love the wait service from the bar but GF has that too!

SAB at YC/BC IMHO is the best, but after that I would say The Grotto at S/D. Then all of the deluxe pools are all nice (CR my least favorite).

I can only go by experience, and I have very little of that with the deluxe resorts.

I like Luna Park, at The Boardwalk. It has a carnival theme, and my kids love the Keister Coaster, and the splash area. My DH and I like the Carousel themed bar.
