Which Deluxe/DVC for July 2005???

We are debating on which resort to choose for our upcoming July 2005 trip. We have stayed at the WL (loved) and POFQ (okay) previously.

This time we are considering trying something new. (Little worried that if we do the WL we won’t get as nice a view/room and be disappointed).

Therefore we are considering AKL, renting points at a villa (BC, BW, OKW), or Swan/Dolphin. Also my DM loved the balcony/water view at WL so we would want to try for something similar.

BTW – Are cast is my DM, DS (11), and me. We are also considering a couple day side trip to SeaWorld/Universal but don’t know if we should switch to a resort in that area or stay at one resort the whole time? We would likely have to switch the last couple nights because of the point increase if we stayed at a villa anyway.

Any help on this would be appreciated. We are getting to a point that we have to make a decision soon if we are going to rent points.

being as DS & I will be there in Aug - we thought BCV would be good in the summer
with a short trip "home" to the Wilderness Lodge

our first trip "home" this past Oct we had a studio in the villas - we had no view - 1st floor right up against the bushes (literally!)
we had a WL courtyard view during our Oct 01 vacation and it was absolutely gorgeous
this Aug we only reserved a standard room - hoping to upgrade if there is a discount

If you want to do Universal I would definitely switch to a Universal Hotel - HRH, RP or PB. WHen you stay at them you get front of the line access at US/IOA. It is soooooo worth it!

My first thought was since you are planning on July, pick the place you think has the best pool. :) :sunny:

I've been in July and it gets hot. I was staying at Poly at the time and was very glad to have a nice big pool for mid day breaks.

Right now the BCV are not available for our time period. So if we can't go there for SAB which resort has the next best pool?

MY DS loves to swim and while we will be going to a water park we also want a great pool to relax during the hot afternoons (our trip is planned in July).

Thank you!

Let's see...

If you want a nice view.... AKL
If you want multi-room accomatations.... BCV,BWV,OKW
If you want easy access to Epcot & MGM... BCV, BWV, S&D
If you want easy access to multiple restaurants... BCV, BWV, S&D
If you want a great pool... BCV
If you want something interesting... AKL

To me it would be a decision between AKL and BCV (or BWV if BCV is not available). We just got back from AKL and BCV. Both are great. If you would be staying in the 1 or 2 bedroom then I would go with the villas. If you would be staying in a studio then it is a more even playing field. In that case I might pick AKL. ...or BCV!?!
:confused3

Hi I would choose either the BCV or BWV for the proximity to the two parks. It will be real crowded so having alternate transportation and walking options will be helful. I also would recommend switching to a universal resort if you want to do those parks.

From what I hear, AKL and Corando Springs both have huge, good pools also.

But nothing really comes close to SAB.

If we stayed in a DVC it would be in a studio. Ymmm thank you everyone that replied. We need to make some decisions on this quickly. I don't think we will be going to MK this trip but plan on going to the other 3 parks, TL, and possibly DQ and Cirq.

That's why I was thinking an Epcot resort might be the ticket. However my DS is an animal nut and would love AKL so I just don't know. My DM loved the water view at WL with the balcony and my DS loved the watermice so I don't know what to do.

I'm checking into DVC availability and go from there. Does anyone know if the BWV pool is any good? What about the waterslide at both BWV and AKL and good?

Thanks for any help!
