Planning to eat at a deluxe resort CS on our arrival day for a quick lunch but also want a great start to Disney...

thinking of doing WL Roaring Forks bc of the beautiful lobby/tree but am open to any of the deluxe CS. How is the food?

What are your thoughts about the best CS for food?Does the Yatch club or Beach Club have CS? Thought we could go to the beach Club to see the gingerbread carousel maybe.

Going to the Contempory, Poly and AKL for dinner... but still could do lunch.

I don't want to eat next to an arcade which from what I can tell that is howthe CS at the GF is.....

Love the food at the Poly..very good and lots of choices...GF is very good too and you can eat outside along the water.

In my personal opinion the best Quick Service location at a Deluxe Resort is the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Nikki, I have enjoyed reading your dining reviews over the years... thanks for the input! I am not all that familiar with the GF other than the lobby of course and 1900 Park Fare. Where outside can you eat along the water? In Dec. you never know what the weather will be like, but it sounds intriguing.

Any reccomendations for menu items for either place?

Also intersted in suggestions from the CR fan for life for menu items. From what I can tell from pictures I have seen the Contempo Cafe seating reminds me a little of Sunshine Seasons.

Any other input would be great! Still wondering about the WL and BC and YC too. Thanks!!

Captain Cookes at the Poly is my favorite and a close second is Gasparillas at the GF. They have a great new menu at Gasparillas that is quite good and the views are nice as well.

The BC counter service is limited but decent. They will have a flatbread pizza, a couple of sandwich choices and salads.

I agree that CR has the best CS options (but I haven't tried CS at the GF). The Poly is pretty good too with some different options.

I personally think the moderate resorts have the better counter service than the deluxe resorts, but if you want to try a Deluxe resort CS, then I think you will be happy with either CR or Poly.

I like Captain Cook's at the Poly...you can take your food to an outside table with a perfect view of the lagoon and Cinderella's castle.

We have two favorites.....Captain Cooks at the Poly and Roaring Forks at the WL :goodvibes. We don't care for Gasparilla's at the GF at all. It's way too noisy with the arcade games, plus the games take up half of the seating area so there is limited seating. We also don't think the variety is as good compared to Captain Cooks and Roaring Forks.

I like Mara at AKL. They usually have the wonderful butternut squash soup from Boma. You can also get zebra domes!:cool1:
