Which deck for verandah?

Previously we sailed on the Dream, deck 5 with a verandah, aft. Every morning the deck and furniture were crusted with salt, dashing my dreams of a morning coffee in peace.
Still had a fantastic time, can't wait to get back on the ship!

Is this a problem on upper decks on the ships? Would we be better off mid ship?

I have two requirements morning coffee in the warm air and @ss in the sand, drink in my hand on Castaway Cay!

My heart lives on Deck 8 midship of the dream class ships. I’ve never had the issues their you describe and love having my morning coffee, croissant, then mimosa, right there.

It really depends on personal preference where on the ship you are. Really, closer to the water the more risk of salt etc.

It seems as though decks 7 - 9 on the Dream tend to be the most popular. Deck 10 is nice if you don't like the sun and don't mind the overhang. Having sailed on deck 10 twice, I like being able to hang on the verandah without the direct sun. Never ran into issues with noise from upstairs either although I know it has bothered some.

The larger verandahs on deck 5 can be nice, but unless you spend a lot of time in the room, I don't find that it really does that much good to have.

We always sail on deck 5, extended verandah and have never had issues with salt. We spend so much time on the large verandah - we would notice if they were unusable! Maybe it was just a fluke?
