We have ADRs at Yachtman in Nov. it's been a Disney "bucket list" item for years. I have heard not so great reviews. So I'm asking what is the best Sig dining on DDP. I don't want to waste 2 credits on mediocre food. Ps I love steak......

I think the best value is Narcossee's. If you get the lobster entree it's $70+. They also have a surf and turf I think about the same price range. So from a value standpoint that is a very good use of 2 credits. Also gets great reviews. If you're a cheesecake fan, I hear their's is to die for. Going in November - can't wait!

If Yachtsman sounds appealing, go for it! I ate there in April this year and enjoyed it; my filet mignon was delicious (the server- who was good - suggested I get the sauce on the side and she was right, the steak didn't need it).

Someone recently noted that you'll see good and bad reviews on the Dis for nearly everywhere. If there's a place I want to try, I'd try it.

I personally don't feel that the use of two dining credits for one signature meal is worth it unless it is something like Hoop De Do (where the entire meal, gratuities and alcohol are included). Not saying I don't think Yachtsman is good, but I think you come out better using the two credits for two meals, then paying OOP for the steak meal you want (and not can even bring Shula's as an option which I like better than Yachtsman).

We ate at Yachtsman on our last trip and it was hands down our best meal of the trip and one of the best steaks I've ever had. The service was impeccable as well.

I am Signature junkie at Disney lol. I think Yachtsman is fantastic. My steak is always done to my liking and delicious. Their pull apart onion rolls with roasted garlic are worthe 2 credits alone for me lol. I am also a big fan of Artist Point and Citricos. Also, if you are perusing their menu, keep in mind that you can swap the sides out and sauces out with any other entree on the menu. I am allergic to blue cheese but I love a good ribeye. They always let me swap the preparation out for the brand peppercorn that is used on a different cut and I've never even mentioned that its due to an allergy issue.

If you like steak and want to try Yachtsman, then DO IT! You can find negative reviews of Every. Single. Restaurant at WDW. Yes, I've even seen not so great reviews of V&A. You will never know if you like a restaurant unless you try it yourself.

For me, the Disney operated signatures that have provided the best overall dining experiences have been Jiko, Flying Fish, and Artist Point.

Prior to the refurb, I'd also have put Cali Grill on that list but I wasn't quite as impressed on our most recent visit (still a very good restaurant, however).

Next, for me, would be the Grand Floridian sigs (I'm not counting V&A), where I'd give Citricos a slight nod over Narcoossee's (although, as a PP noted, the surf & turf at Narcoossee's is a good use of dining plan credits).

After that would be Yachtsman, then the park and DTD signatures.

All of the above restaurants will have at least one steak item on the menu.

In a nutshell, I'd put Yachtsman behind all of the other resort signatures and ahead of all the park and DTD signatures.

That being said, the filet at Yachtsman is excellent, I just don't think the rest of the dining experience measures up to other resort signatures (particularly as far as restaurant ambiance, food presentation, and menu breadth).

The steak at Yachtsman was pretty good, I found the appetizers and sides to be lacking. We've had pretty good steaks at Flying Fish and Narcoossee's too.

We can't wait to try Yachtsman. We always check TripAdvisor for restaurant reviews. There are many on the site and from recent reviews. One person saying it sucks from five years ago will get you nowhere.

This assessment is accurate, except I would flip Citricos and Narcoossee's based on my personal experience. :)

We love all the signatures...its so hard to choose 1 because they all have something to offer!

Yachtsman had AWESOME steak but werent crazy about the apps (except meat plate). LOVED flying fish steak as well and its a bit cheaper than FF. Narcoossee is a must do every trip for surf and turf! California Grill is excellent sushi and filet and atmosphere. We chooose our signatures based on where we are staying and playing that night!! Good luck~!!

I ate at the Yachtsman two years ago and we are booked to go there again in September. It was the best meal of the trip. It will be our last meal before heading for home the next day and I cannot wait for it.

Narcoossee's has been the best meal of our trip each of the past 5 years. Yachtsmen is usually top 2 or 3 though and we have always been happy with our meals there.

Not meaning to hijack this thread but any veggies out there tell me which sig does the best vegetarian meal? I don't like steak and fish and only like chicken if its not on the bone or anything, so I tend to plump for the vegetarian dishes. We are looking at AP, Citricos and Le Cellier for DH's birthday (Where I am tempted to order the mushroom filet mignon and letting him eat the steak whilst I have the rest of the plate!)

Yachtsman actually was the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. And we eat a lot of beef in Idaho. I would def do it!

Jiko has always had a dedicated and delicious vegetarian menu (not sure they still do, I am a former vegetarian so didn't request it last trip). It would be my choice, for sure.

ETA: Disney's official site lists Jiko's vegetarian menu here, so it appears it still exists: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...ediaType/Dining/Jiko/jiko-menu-vegetarian.pdf
