Which days to go in May?

Hello all,

We're still planning this vacation, and though I can't wait to get it booked and stop worrying about the whole thing, it is fun to figure it all out. We've got the whole week of April 28 - May 5 off. We're trying to figure out if we should go for 2 days or 3. We've got a 4 1/2 year old and a (will be) 15 month old. We figure that with three days we'll be able to take our time and enjoy ourselves a bit more (plus it has the EE), but the two day pass will save money in both tickets and hotel. We're using our tax returns for the trip, so technically we have the money to spend, but we're still trying to keep the cost as low as we can. Do you guys think we should do 2 or 3 days in the park?

Also, we looked into going over the weekend so we'd get the longer day with the electrical parade and fireworks, and my husband says he'd rather start with the long day than end with the long day, so we thought we'd have our first day be on Sun, which would put us flying in on Saturday, and the hotel room is twice as much that night. If we flew in on Sunday and went into the parks on Sunday, we wouldn't be able to go until hotel check-in at 3:00, and it just feels like a waste of a ticket to only go half a day. We called the hotel we'll be staying at and they said the earliest we could check-in or even just leave our luggage without checking in is 2:00.

Should we just fly in on Sun and go Mon, Tues, and maybe Wed? Should we spend the extra money to have a full day Sun? (Tell me if it's worth it or not, because if it is, we'll do it.) If feel like I'm rambling. I hope this all makes sense.

Thanks!
Carrie

I think you will have a much more relaxing time if you go for the three days in the park, and I'd suggest you make them Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Sunday is much busier, and I always prefer the slower days. BUT, you might want to check the difference in price between a 3-day parkhopper and a 4-day parkhopper (sometimes it's not all that much). If you got the 4-day parkhopper you could go Sunday afternoon too. Since that week is low season, and the parks close earlier, you will want to check the Disneyland entertainment calendar as things get closer- some parades and entertainment may only be running on Sunday. I went last year with my 3 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old from Sun afternoon - Wed, and it worked out pretty well. This year we decided to be even more relaxed and are going from Sunday afternoon through Thursday, and I think this time we'll actually have time to go to the pool. We like to take a break in the middle of the day so that everyone gets some quiet time, so that does really eat into your time in the parks.
