Hi all. My dh and I have decided to take a quick 3-4 day getaway to So Cal for our 10 year anniversary. We aren't able to get away longer due to his vacation days and trying to keep costs down. Initially we wanted to do DL/CA for two days and Catalina Island for one but I had no idea that two day hoppers cost so much! $132 each. Yikes! Are there any deals with these going on that I don't know about?
If not, then we will just go one day, and probably just do DL for $66 since it would cost us an extra $50 to both do CA as well. We just went to DL/CA for 3 days in October and plan to go again in November with the kids so it's not a huge deal if this is all we can do this time.
If we only go one day, which day would you pick? Sunday 3/9 or Tuesday 3/11? Do you think there will be a significant difference in crowds? Fireworks are showing on both days. Fantasmic is only on Sunday but I'm leaning towards not seeing it this time and focusing on the fireworks for the nighttime show anyway. Hours on Sunday are 8-12am, Tues are 9-11pm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am familiar with all the rides and using park hoppers and such. We will be staying at my grandparent's house instead of a hotel.
Also, if you have any tips on the best way to get to Catalina Island (thinking Catalina Express) and hotels there, as well as things to do that are inexpensive that would be wonderful. Thanks!
