My family is coming to visit for the week of Thanksgiving, and we would all like to go to WWOHP. We've never been to Universal before. What day would be the best day to go, based on crowds? Choices are Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday.

Wednesday will be your best bet. The weekend after Thanksgiving is slammed!

Wednesday, definitely.

Fri/Sat EVERYTHING will have 60-90+ minute waits. Everything. In both parks.

I will be there the days after Thanksgiving. Will out FOTL passes help?

They will help, to a degree. Don't be surprised if Express lines are 20+ minutes for popular rides during the 12-5 Busy Timeframe (Regular Lines will be 60-90+).

Also, are you staying onsite or did you buy the Express passes?

On site. Does that matter?
You will have unlimited Express access as opposed to once through the line which means you can go back again and again but the lines for Express could be 20 minutes or so as DM stated. The other thing to consider is the lines for everything else. Restaurants will be very crowded but onsite guests can receive priority seating at sit down restaurants in the parks and at CityWalk. Just show your room key.

Ok, Wednesday it is. We are not staying onsite (we are local), and we're not buying any special passes. We had planned on having lunch in the Three Broomsticks. Do they take reservations or will we have a problem getting in because we are not staying onsite?

Three Broomsticks is counter service so you can't make reservations...except for the breakfast package. You might want to eat at an off peak time to avoid a long wait.

We were planning on going this coming Sunday. Do you think that day will be crowded as well? Thanks in advance.
It will still be crowded but I would imagine the crowds will start to thin out by afternoon since people would be returning home.

We went Wednesday. We were walking towards WWOHP by 10:00, and told it was at capacity. We got a "reservation" ticket to come back between 12:20 and 1:20. We managed to get in right at 12:30 and it was shoulder to shoulder. There was a 30 minute wait for Dragon Challenge, but everything else was much longer. We had 120 minute wait for Forbidden Journey, but it was well worth the wait! Because we were doing Child Swap, we got to bypass the "locker room," so that cut down on a little wait time. I love how the whole family (children included) gets to go through the queue together. Of our 6 adults, 5 rode the first time while one watched the kids, then 4 rode the second time when we swapped. We had dinner at the Three Broomsticks, and after about 6:00pm the crowd thinned considerably (so you weren't quite walking on people's toes anymore). We did the Hogwarts tour (without the ride), had a 30 minute wait for Flight of the Hippogriff, then waited in a short line (about 10 minutes) for Honeydukes. We started to wait in line for the other main shop (forget the name, but it's connected to Ollivander's), but after about 15 minutes of not moving an inch we gave up. We came back at about 10 minutes to park closing and there was no line at all! Right at park closing we walked on Forbidden Journey one last time with no wait at all. It was fantastic, and we'll definitely be going back!
