were in the planning stages for our trip in Jan---

we re DVC and only have a 100 point contract so were very stingy about using our points--

so were planning on Jan 22 to 28 arrive sun leave sat--

just wondering how TSA is on a leaving WDW on a sat--

trying to avoid staying over a fri and sat night since those days are higher points--

Im afraid sat will be a zoo--or is sun worse-

so looking for any advice on which is the better day to leave

Personally I would count ANY day at MCO as (at least potentially) a zoo. I would guess ANY Sat/Sun pair would be about the same between the two days. ETA: It's also probable the time of day could affect security levels.

I don't worry about how TSA is going to be to decide when to leave. Cost (whether money or points) and how many vacation days needed are primary. I've gotten old enough that I like a day off AFTER vacation to get back into the swing. If I come back on a Saturday, Sunday is my day off and I don't need to take a vacation day.

I agree - Saturday and Sunday are probably equally busy with people coming and going at MCO, since most people's vacations probably start and end on weekends. If I were trying to travel at a less busy time, I'd pick a weekday; if I were flying in or out on Saturday or Sunday, I'd try to fly earlier in the day rather than later, when things have had time to get messed up!

If you are worried about the length of security lines at an airport, might look into signing up for TSA-precheck since those lines tend to take less time. There is really little else you can do since MCO tends to always be busy due to the number of families visiting Disney or Universal. Security at any airport is a fact of life regardless of when you travel.

Regarding airport TSA lines, they are all a zoo at this time no matter what day it is. As for next January, nobody has any idea how that is going to be.

Agreeing that both days are about the same, crowd-wise. If you can, I’d book a flight before 11:30 AM, either day. That way, you’ll avoid the cruise passengers going home. Most of them book flights in the afternoon.
Which weekend day is busier for cruises? Again, about the same. There are about as many Saturday to Saturday cruises than Sunday to Sunday cruises.
