My son and I have been blessed with airline tickets for our spring break so we can visit my DD at the University of Tampa. Since we have some unused park tickets, we were thinking of driving to WDW for one day. I have always planned my trips a year in advance using the UG, and now I am a bit overwhelmed as to how to plan for one day, driving, with the new FP system. I was hoping someone would help answer a few quick questions; I am hoping to get the 2014 UG from the library, but until then I'm wondering what my options are.
The days we could visit would either be Tuesday the 25th OR Thursday the 27th and we would either want to go to the MK or Epcot. From what I can tell on these boards, both will be having morning EMH on the 27th, so that day might be out. There used to be a rule of thumb that certain days were better (less crowded) in certain parks. Is that still true? I DO NOT want to go to park that has EMH, as I know it will be packed and we won't be able to utilize the feature. Any advice which park would be best on the 25th?
I've never had to park, either. We have AAA; will this get me any type of discount?
Is the old FP system completely gone, or will it be by my visit? If so, what is the easiest way to start the new process, given I won't be staying onsite. I know there are many threads covering this, I think, I just don't know where to start. My sister who lives in Tampa will be joining us and will have to buy a ticket at the gate, or maybe AAA ahead of time.
Are the UG touring plans still helpful? I would even consider buying the book if I thought it would be worth it.
THANK YOU for any suggestions you can offer. I'm off to do more research now...
