Which dates would you pick? Please help!

Okay fellow podcast listeners- please help! A very kind DVC owner that we know can't use their points and has offered to give them to us for free We have always dreamt of going to WDW at christmas time (and I am loving the Christmas in July podcasts!), but these are the only dates she sees open (we would pick a four day time period within these dates), what would you pick?

November 12 -15 or 18 -24 (the decorations aren't up yet though right??)
December 17th – 21 (I am scared because this seems too close to Christmas and the crowds)
January 3 -8th or Jan 13 – 31 (It looks like the Osborne Lights come down on the 4th- do all of the decorations come down then?)

I am panicked because this is such a nice gift, but we have to decide right now if we want to do this before those dates are snatched up! I would love your advice!

If my goal is to see the christmas decorations and the christmas events then I would go with December 17th – 21. You may hit some crowds - but that is going to be the only time you will have to see all the "cool" stuff.

you'll have some crowds but they shouldn't be too scary and you'll have the decorations!

You'll have to go Dec. 17-21 to catch all of the Christmas stuff. I don't think the crowds will be all that bad since kids are still in school. I think the crowds pick up right after you leave through New Years.

Thanks everyone- December was my gut, because I really want to see all the Christmas stuff, and you guys have calmed my fears about the crowds. I think we are going to do this Now I have to go back and re-listen to the last few podcasts and cross my fingers that this works out!

Does the UG update their crowd calendars throughout the year as things change or do they set it and forget it???

I believe they update it on the website when it is a substantial deviation from their previous guesstimates. All in all, their initial figures are quite realistic.

You picked a great time to go we went there last year on almost the same dates and had a great time, it got a little crowded at times but was nothing like what it will be after christmas.

Oh good, because we just sent in the request for the dates, I am very excited! It looks like you liked it last December because your siggie shows you are planning a wedding for around the same time- Congrats! That is very exciting- we did a WDW honeymoon in 2005 and haven't been back since and we thought we wouldn't be able to go back until 2015 (we were already saving up), but this is an unexpected surprise! Good luck with your wedding!
