Hi,

We are currently planning a trip to disneyland. My husband & I have a 1 yr old & 3 yr old. We have the option of 2 sets of dates & wondering which would be better. We are driving from about 4 hrs away & planning to stay on site. We usually go 1-2 times/year & don't really have any "must dos".

Thursday, Nov 5 - Sat, Nov 7
Sunday, Nov 29 - Tues, Dec 1.

I know we would see holiday stuff with the second dates, but anything else worth thinking about? We're most concerned about crowds.

That first weekend in November they usually do the Christmas parade taping, I suppose that could increase crowds. You'll see a lot of decorations, but not much in terms of the scheduled activities.

The weekend of the 29th should be very busy, but I assume slows a little into that next week, but probably not until the time you would be leaving.

If you are at all interested in the holiday decor and entertainment then I would suggest going later in November. The parks are so beautiful that time of year!

We were there Fri-Mon after Thanksgiving last year, so Nov 28-Dec 1. Fri and Sat were busy, but Sunday wasn't bad at all. I think a lot of people were leaving to go home on that day after the holiday last year. Monday wasn't too crowded either. We found that whole weekend to be quite manageable. I just checked Touring Plans "what they saw" historical crowds on those days:
Sun 5/10
Mon 5/10
Tue 2/10

Definitely check out the Christmas thread as mentioned by Nicoli. Sherry is an Halloween/Christmas expert and provides a lot of valuable information. Have fun planning!

The Nov. date is a great time to go though more time during the week is much better than fri and sat.
This (mid week) is the time of year we will try to shoot for over the coming years.

The week after Thanksgiving is my favorite time to go. Less crowds and all of the decorations- it's magical!
