We can go on Wednesday 26th September, Wednesday 19th September or Wednesday 12th September, this way we can stay for the full 17 nights.

We want to experience MNSSHP but we also want to go when it will be least crowded. We would also like to avoid any school holidays.

Can anyone please help me try and understand how Disney will change in anyway from the dates I have listed?

When do all the decorations for Halloween start?

I much appreciate your help everyone on this.

last year we went from the 18th sept to the 4th october and i must say it got a lot busier in the parks as soon as it turned october. Even with the free dining running we had no problems making ADR's 24 hours beforehand for meals at epcot and for the fantasmic dinner package. We went to the first night of MNSSHP which was the 30th September and it was dead, we walked on all the rides and had the parks practically to ourselves for the first couple of hours. This year they are starting the MNSSHP nights earlier with the first one on the 15th september, so whatever dates you do you will be sure to be able to make one of the parties. Next year we are going from 10th september to 1st october so i'm hoping it will be niceand quiet in the parks for our whole stay.

sorry forgot to say, but as for decorating for halloween, unlike DLP which goes all out and is completely transformed for halloween the parks at WDW don't really decorate. They do put up some decorations but they only do them for each MNSSHP night and they aren't up all the time

Thanks for that, shame WDW dont go out on the decorations front like DLP, though I guess its to make more go to hte MNSSHP? When you say it got busier in October did it make much of a difference to your holiday? Did the weather cool down at all in October?

Has anyone else been around these dates? If so what were your experiences?

the day we arrived it was 94degrees and that was at 5pm!!! the folowing day was the same, however we had 4 days of cloud and rain when the rainbands from hurricane Rita pased over, but it didn't spoil anything, it did seem a bit cooler after this happened even though it was still very hot, but i guess it coul have been us getting used to the heat and humidity. We went to MK and Epcot on monday 3rd before we came home and we couldn't believe how much busier it was in the parks on those days, although we did speak to a couple of regulars who said it was unusual to be so busy. The queues in fantsyland were 60mins +, and soarin was like 3 days...lol, so yes it did effect us because we had 2 small toddlers with us who were no good in queues, but it didn't spoil anything because we just enjoyed the parks for the atmosphere instead as it was the end of the holiday we had done everything we wanted anyway.

I would go 12th September, it is at about the quietest time, the first MSSHP is on the 15th and there is another on the 22nd. There are also general public discounts on the rooms for this time as well. It starts to go quiet the day after labour day and then gets busier towards october.

Thanks for the advice, my hubby sadly cant go on the 12th I have been told as he is studying to become a Chartered Accountant and cant miss any of his studies which fall on that date.

So we are now thinking of moving it today to the 19th September 2007 for 17 nights...will it be very busy at this time?

And what is the weather like?

you will be doing practically the same dates as we did last year so no it shouldn't be too busy. For the majority of the time we walked straight onto every ride and only needed to get fastpasses for the likes of soarin and test track, in fact most of the fastpass machines were not even operating. We utitlised the busy days guides and found they worked really well, and we also used some of the EMH's on a na evening which gave us more time. I would say we managed to do pretty much everything we wanted. We even went to a waterpark on a weekend which is supposed to be avoided and found it empty.

Hello TandCmum and everyone :wave2:

What dates did you go last year?

Were you there for thr Epcot food festival?

What was the MNSSHP like?

Epcot will problay be a little busier as towards the end of september is the food and wine fayre. Also i think Im right in thinking disneys triatholon is on round about the same time, not sure what impact that will have on guest numbers .

HTH

Of your dates listed I would choose the 19th,not that there will be much difference between that & the 12th but it does give you more days as options for MNSSHP or HHN or HoS-this year we have to fly out on the 12th because of work & 3 of our last 4 nights are HoS,HHN & MNSSHP guess who'll be sleeping on the plane!! The weather tends to be a bit more settled towards the end of Sept & the crowds light but it definately does get busier the closer you get to Columbus Day (10/11 Oct) & our 1/2 term holidays
HTH SD :woohoo:

we did catch the beginnings of food and wine, there were some extra stalls around the world showcase but we didn't check them out much. Although we like our nice meals we aren't really foodies so are not to bothered about the F&W festival at this time, especially as our kids are very younf they are not really interested in wine demos, maybe when they are a bit older we will partake. I am actually being really bad next year and taking DS out of school for 3 weeks (he will be 5) so we can go in september rather than october as we did find it got busier which isn't easy with buggies and toddlers who won't queue, but as you are just a couple you will be fine, if it had just been me and DH we wouldn't have had a problem.

It should be really quiet for the dates you mention above :)

Sounds like a great time to go, you will probably just catch the end of the summer humidity but it will be noticeably cooler than August for example.
I would say though you can count on temps. in the mid 80s most of the time.

Cannot really advise on MNSSHP but again, all the schools in the US/UK will be back so crowds will be very manageable - happy planning. ;)
