Which date is less crowded?

I've read a lot of the links regarding times to visit, AP blackout dates, WOC opening, etc., but I still find myself a little confused and I was wondering if someone could help me out.

We're planning my DS's first visit to DL this summer. There are two openings in his school schedule. Which time is less crowded? We're planning a Monday to Friday trip.

1. Late May/Early June - no AP blackout dates, but moderate summer crowds.
2. Late July/Early August - AP blackout dates, but heavy summer crowds.

I am sure there will be differing opinions but if I understand the way the crowds went last summer then option 2 would be better. It seems a tipping point was reached making AP's the single most important factor in crowd levels during the on-season.

Judging by our experience over the past two years, option 2 should be less crowded. Like you said, APs are blacked out and the soft economy has some people putting off summer vacations.

I'm thinking that option 2 would be better because of the AP blockouts.

Probably option 2.

If WOC gets delayed until June then late May before Memorial Day weekend may be less crowded and then option 1 would be better. With Fantasmic re-opening on the Friday before Memorial Day and with World of Color opening (May, June?), then we can expect to see the curious AP holders come out in droves.
