(We’re booked on a MDAS out of Miami, late January - so obviously, I’m not anti that cruise)

We have been to CC, but not going isn't a deal breaker for us. We usually don't get off the ship at port so we can use the pools when they aren't as crowded.

Do you stay on the ship at all ports? Or just CC? Does destination matter that much?

I do love Disney Christmas decorations, on ships or in the parks. Way more than people dressed up as Marvel characters.

And the idea of being in a cruise on Thanksgiving sounds like fun to me. Let someone else do the cooking. Now, if you have to come home and prepare a big family-do right after a cruise, Then I’d lean to March.

(I read the thread and commented before voting. I didn’t expect it to be so weighted toward Thanksgiving).

It is a tough choice.

Pick whichever one is more convenient and less stressful for your family. It is a vacation.

But a lot of Disney “classics” are derivations of somebody else’s creation, right? Stuff Disney licensed and adapted, just like they bought and adapted the Marvel IP.

Jungle Book. Winnie the Pooh. Mary Poppins. Peter Pan. Etc.
Yes, thus my use of the word "classic". Things Disney embraced and nurtured and decades ago, not some fad.

Seems like the only difference between the two is “time.”

Yup. Like the difference between anything classic and anything current.

I guess that's the question - Disney's been throwing their whole back into the MCU since "The Avengers" in 2012. I wonder if/when this effort escapes the "current fad" moniker and becomes something else.

Will self-professed Disney snobs in 2041 look back on (some of) the Marvel films as "classics"? Impossible to say, but I find it interesting how time can change how a given film is perceived by the general public.

One of these days, "The Emperor's New Groove" will get its due as the criminally underappreciated comedy classic that it is.
