Which Cruise Should I Choose?

Hi,

I live near New York, and I'm considering taking a cruise in early November. Because of a school break, the cruise will be taking place during the first week of November.

We're debating between a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy, a 4 night Bahamian on the Dream, a 5 night Mexican Baja on the Wonder and a 5 night repositioning from New York to San Juan.

The least expensive is the Magic one, then the Dream one, the Wonder one and the Fantasy one is the most expensive one.

Does anyone have any advice on this? And does anyone think that this cruise may be cancelled because of the ongoing pandemic?

Thank you very much!

Any of these could be cancelled since cruising has no date to reopen. At this point, the Wonder Mexico cruise looks most in jeopardy because of what is happening with Canadian ports being closed and the fact that the PC portion would not be allowed to have passengers. Having said that, Disney has announced that they are trying to work something out to keep the reamainder of the AK cruises which bodes hope for the Mexico cruises. I would always vote for the longest cruise. 😃

in reverse order ....

Re Cancelling cruises
My cruise from last year was cancelled and its replacement cruise for May this year has now been cancelled. But there seems to be good news on the COVID front.

Re: YES I DO have an Opinion :teeth:
I would do the Cruise to San Juan. You don't have to fly to your embarkation port. Then stay and enjoy Old San Juan for a few days after the cruise. I love Old San Juan. Want to go back. Want to explore outside of the city. We have been to the rainforest - during rainy season and it was aptly named!! But we still had a good time. We went kayaking in one of the Bio Bays - fantastic experience!! Food was awesome! Take a food walking tour of Old San Juan.

Assuming this is for this November I'd rank them as Dream, Fantasy, Magic, Wonder in terms of likelihood of going. Fantasy may not sail as advertised (may change in length or ports). I would bet short Bahamian cruises will be the easiest for DCL and other lines to get going once they are able to do so... but I know nothing about their timeline so any way you slice it booking anything for 2021 is some amount of gamble.

In order of my personal preference if there were no covid I'd say Fantasy, Magic, Dream, Wonder with those itineraries.

I loved our Mexican Baja cruise, but I agree with the others that out of the four, that cruise is the most likely to be canceled.

We were supposed to sail out of San Juan Fall 2020 and then Spring 2021, but both got canceled. What research I did do made San Juan look interesting though. Also, with your location, it would be convenient (only the return flight needed).

If you're flying to Florida, I suggest going on the Fantasy for 7 nights. Unless you're combining the cruise with a WDW, then the 4-night is a good choice.
