Here we are, 242 days away from our second cruise. We started with a 3 nights Bahamas cruise on the Dream departing from Port Canaveral. Our next cruise will be 4 nights Bahamas cruise departing from Miami (I chose it because I wanted to see Miami and Key West -never been there)...

I know you get the best deals by booking on board (+on board credit)... That is what we will probably do.

I KNOW I will want to go on a cruise again after this one. But the truth is ... they are expensive and right now the CAN $ vs US $ is horrible and I am told it's only gonna get worst within the next few months.

So I was wondering which cruise give you more bang for your bucks? 3, 4, 5 or 7 nights? Which boat? Departing from where? Any dates less expensive but still comfortable? (We are looking for nice weather and 75-80 degrees.)

Can't imagine paying 4000$ for a cruise (for two). :/

Has anyone even calculated that?

Thanks in advance!

Cruises that are away from any holidays away from school holidays, ie September January February. Cheapest is 3/4 night.

With the CDN $ faring so badly, our 7 night western Caribbean on the Fantasty this Oct cost DH and I $5,000 once exchange was factored in. Yes, choosing concierge also didn't help that final # , but it's our 25 anniversary trip, so worth the splurge! I wish the CDN $ would recover a bit as I still owe $2,000 on the Disney portion of our trip, I'm contemplating just putting the money down now before our $ tanks even worse! I don't know if I'll put the deposit down for another cruise yet, guess I'll see how we like this one! It's our first :)

It all depends. I use the big travel sites (like expedia for example) to compare prices. With them you can search for cruises over several months and different destinations. If you just specify that the cruise line is DCL and then sort the list by price, you can see which is the cheapest. Expedia sorts by complete price, but also shows per person per night pricing underneath.

I think some of the cheapest cruises around at the moment are the Southern Caribbean cruises in January 2016 on the Wonder departing from San Juan.

Otherwise it appears that the cruises from Miami are slightly cheaper per night than the ones departing from Port Canaveral.

we like to cruise in october, mid to late. if we book opening day then we can easily get a 7 night cruise for $2500 ish for two. that is an ocean view room though, which is exactly what we need. we have sailed with balconies and i much prefer ocean view, inside i can not do, to enclosed for me, however an inside would be even less. we are canadian so we do have to convert this $ amount. i keep a u.s. account and deposit to it every other week or so. its good for dollar cost averaging.
it pretty much depends on what you want. 3 nights is going to be $, 4 nights $$, and 7 nights $$$ but if you figure the cost per night you may find the 7 is cheaper than the 3.
good luck and enjoy your next cruise.

The Transatlantic are by far the cheapest per night, working out to be around $279 per night, so those really are the best bang for your buck! The three-night cruise in October works out to be around $618 a night, a seven-night in February is about $539 a night and a five-night in February is around $340. The two older ships are almost always going to be cheaper than the two newer and like others have said, away from holidays and school vacations will be the best rate.

Ouch! We are doing 11 night transatlantic in September, and with the exchange ours comes out to just under $4000 for 2.

It seems the longer the cruise the less expensive (and honestly, you get more sea days to actually enjoy the ship and everything Disney has to offer). If you can swing the time away, go for a TA or PC!

This. If you are looking for cheapest price overall (as opposed to per night), the three-night cruises on the Magic out of Port Canaveral on 2/18, 2/25 and 3/3 appear to be the cheapest, starting at $450 per person USD (according to Expedia).
