We're thinking of taking a trip to WDW the week of Jan 7th. I have a $50 credit with RCI and any of the following are going to be $99 for the week. I'm having some difficulty choosing one so any suggestions and opinions are welcome.

All are 1 bedroom. We have the following places to choose from:
Florida Vacation Villas
Lifetime of Vacations at Grand Leisure
High Point World Resort
Silver Lake Resort
Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms
Oak Plantation
Westgate Leisure Resort
Barefootin in the Keys at Old Town
Vacation Village at Parkway (partial kitchen)
Club Sevilla
Celebration World Resort (partial kitchen)
The Holiday Club at Club Sevilla

It's just going to be me and DD-14. We've been to the Vacation Village at Parkway in the bigger unit and Celebration in a 2 bedroom unit. Space is not a huge issue since it's just the 2 of us but I would certainly like a unit with a washer and dryer.

My choices would be Silver Lake or Fairfield Cypress Palms. Both are pretty close to each other and both have nice units..Silver Lake might be a little better because of a pool bar/food place if that is of interest

I was trying to find pictures of Cypress Palms but no luck.

Have you been to both?

Yes we have been to both..I dont think you would be upset with either one.

In Feb. 2005 Me, Grumpy and DS 11 stayed in a 1 BR at Cypress Palms.

It had a king sized bed in the BR and a sleeper sofa in the Living Room. Full kitchen with full size fridge, stove, diswasher and a stackable washer/dryer.

Within walking distance of many restaraunts such as Cracker Barrel, Uno's, Krispy Kreme and a CVS drug store.

Pool with a hot tub and rec. area with games and planned activities (did not use any of these). Short drive to WDW (about 10-15 min.). Also found a mall close to a SuperTarget that was about 20 min. away.

Very nice guest services as we did not check in until after midnight and they gave our room away, put us up in a NICE 2BR and moved us to a 1BR the next day with bellmen to move all of our luggage.

We would def. stay here again as Grumpy liked the location and the rooms. If Grumpy's happy then everyone is happy!

I stayed in Oak plantation in a 1 bdrm about 3 years ago and would not stay there again. It is pretty far from Disney and the traffic is horrendous on that section of 192. It seems they are constantly doing construction down there. We had an emergency in the middle of the night (DS was throwing and seizing the night before our DCL 7 day Eastern!) and the phone literally came off the wall in the middle of my phone call!
The pool was warm but that was about it for positives.

Thanks for your help. An opening at Vacation Village with a full kitchen opened up. We've stayed there before and knowing it has the big jacuzzi tub won out :)
