I have had a great quote from Virgin, that I am very tempted by. I know TCD are doing it but I don't want to use them (VERY bad past experience), also I know disney.co.uk, so I could book a DIY, however, the Virgin package price is cvoming out less than a DIY as it is only 2 of us

I don't know who else is doing it to compare prices, anyne know who else is offering it?

When i've booked in the past and looked for every best price option, other companys have seemed cheaper on the face of it, but when you add the total cost of the holiday, Virgin seem very price competative, we are also only a couple so can't take advantage of a large party discount.
Remember, you get what you pay for, so if your happy with the price virgin have offered - go for it - what are you hoping to save, an extra £50- £200 - Youv'e been bitten by the price bug once ( although I know people who have been TCD and were happy) why take that chance - Although sometimes complacent, Virgin on the whole= good value and service

We haven't travelled with Virgin before, we have travelled with others, I am also weary oif some of the charters as I don't think I would manange with less than 32" seats.

I am learning very much towards the Virgin price, (£2200 2 adults POP, including 14 day tickets with free DDP, compact car and plat car hire).

Dp you know if the packages give the virgin air miles, I joined the flying club ready!

Doing very quick maths
On Average 2 people min spend x $40 P/P per day dining (b,l & e.m) = $80 per couple x 14 = $1120 divide by 1.80 (good exhange rate, also to be taken into account) =£622.00 per fortnight- eating at budget food outlets. Then take off approx £300 car insurance, Another £336 for tickets (disney site) that leaves £942 by 2 for flights and accomodation to stay on-site = £471 p/p. Then take into account for that price you will be eating on-site also !! Great Prrice - Go for it..

forgot to add I think any holiday adds miles - but they only get added after you fly, and you have to inform them you are travelling

I am almost certain that First Choice are doing the free dp. We have booked with Virgin for aug 2007 in POFQ.

You do get the VA flying club points with Virgin Holidays. :sunny: When you've booked, go to the Virgin Atlantic website and (providing your flights are less than 11 months away) you can pre-book seats, sort out dining preferences and add your flying club number so the points will be added automatically after you've flown... :cool1:

When you check in at the airport hand in your flying club cards with your passports, twice I have added my FC numbers online and when I have checked in they have not been on our booking.
Anyone flying BMI also get 8,000 miles added to your Virgin FC account as we found out in August.

1st chice ARE offering the ddp...this is where dh saw the add that prompted us to book :teeth:

Just called First Choice, they are doing it, but are £200 more than Virgin, so Virgin is winning atm.

I've just done a quick search as we are looking to go around the same time.

1st - 14th September 2007 flying from Manchester

Pop Century inc Dining and Tickets - £1116 - direct with Disney UK
Flights & Car - £974 - first choice.

Total of £2090.

I would expect the flights to come down by a couple of hundred over the next few months.

Or Mytravel including car for £798 - direct holidays.

The flights won't be quite as comfy but the total including hotel is £1914

Try Thomas cook and Jetsave. Both have flights with Virgin and offer the plan.

Virgin appear to be doing the DDP at only three resorts Y&BC CSR and POP. CSR appears to be already pretty fully allocated (I couldn't see any availability when I was checking for mid/late August). With the free night promotion at the moment too Virgin are pretty competative on price.

We've just booked First Choice at POFQ.

:) Chris.

Virgin are doing it on all resorts, but they have an additional offer of 3 days free when you book 7 on those resorts.

That's me being blind then!

Our TA booked our holiday with Thomas Cook signatures who offer price matching so gave us the free DDP that virgin was offering. We are staying at AKL from 12th Aug next year and our frequent virgin flyers so get 10% online discount with Virgin. Thomascook signatures got us the whole package equivalent to what we would have booked through Virgin for £600 less. That includes 14 nights at AKL (with Savannah room upgrade), free DDP, ultimate disney 14 day pass, 5 park universal flexitickets and car hire for a family of 3 adults and 1 child. (total was £6400)

cosmos are offering free ddp. we booked in july for 2007 and now they are offering free ddp which has annoyed us! wish we hadnt of booked so early now.

I phoned up yesturday and also got an excellent quote from virgin including the meal package which sounds excellent, i have got a ref number and need to book tomarrow, got it £500 cheaper than i though for 6 people and didn't expect the meal option, can anyone explain more about the meal package thing? I am booking tomarrow with a deposit.

Oh and been with virgin twice and will not go with no-one else as they have been brilliant.

I think we are going to go with booking on the UK site at 1165 for 15 nights at Pop with tickets and free dining, 2 adults. That will leave us with 875 pounds for flights and this year we got Virgin Atlantic for about 300 pounds each and I’m hoping we will get a similar rate again...still I’m worried because I’m terrible at math and most of us seem to be choosing to book directly with Virgin .

Am I missing something? We don't want a car so other than that..?
