We booked our recent DLRP trip through Thomson (formerly Lunn Poly) because I'd always used them before and knew it was quite straightforward. However, I've heard that other travel agents and internet companies can be much cheaper. I was just wondering which companies you guys use when booking your holidays, or if you know what some cheaper options are?

Thanks in advance! ::MinnieMo

Always booked mine directly through Disney so dont really have anything to compare against. Plus depending when you book you sometimes get room upgrades which are difficult to get through travel agents.

I have booked with Bridge for our trip in January. The main reasons are financial - I paid the whole amount in Tesco Clubcard vouchers and still got a fifty pounds discount for early booking. I know a few other people who have done this previously and they have all been happy and had a great time. If I could persuade DH to visit regularly we would probably get APs and book direct but he says that "Disney holidays are not the only ones you know"!

Hopefully he'll have such a good time in January that he'll want to return soon after.:flower:

Leisure Direction, as mentioned above :)

We saved £500 in comparison to booking direct with a travel agent.

Airmiles, you don't need to be a member. Disney quoted me £1037 for 4 nights at Disneyland Hotel with no passes as we have A p's for 2 adults & 2 children. Airmiles quoted £926 with passes & I got another £200 knocked off for my miles. Also had good deals with hotels.com & expedia for Hol Innn & Explorers

Direct with disney for accomodation and diy for air or ferry transport.

When I was pricing up for a package in August, booking with Disney direct was the cheapest. The prices varied quite considerably, it was either Paris Travel Service or Thomas Cook which was the dearest (can't remember which one now) coming in at about £300 more than Disney. In the end we bought annual passes and booked the Explorers seperately with Expedia through the Eurostar site and saved ££££££££££. They were the cheapest of the hotel booking sites for our dates.

We've been discussing this topic recently on the UK board and I think sometimes packages work out cheaper, sometimes it is cheaper to DIY. I think it all depends on which hotel you want to stay at, how many children/adults are in your party, how long you want to stay and when you are going. Although it worked out cheaper for us to DIY to DLP, it is much cheaper for us to do a Virgin package to WDW because my elder DD's are classed as teenagers and not adults, therefore saving me lots of ££££.

In a nutshell, once you have decided on the dates you want to go, just get as many quotes as you can.

We too also book our flights individually. We have booked hotel and park tickets with disney and this year we have booked with Holiday Inn on their website.

Hi Bonnie,

Last time and for this coming holiday we used Travel Care [COOP]. They quote exactly the same price as the Disney price grid - but I get my dividend points back on the whole holiday........worked out even better than the share holder's discount!!

We used Clippers Quay for accomodation and booked flights through BA website.

Have used Thomson and Leger for previous visits - for our visit next year I compared prices between the official DLRP, Thomson, Thomas Cook and First Choice brochures adding on the extras -Character breakfasts, Buffalo Bills etc. (there can be a quite considerable difference between the prices charged for these) and Thomson and First Choice came out with hardly any difference in the price, booked with First Choice because they supply backpacks for all the kids with autograph books, cameras, ponchos etc. included.
The official brochure worked out the most expensive because they weren't offering 5 nights for the price of 4 with Eurostar travel, which was what we wanted - nearly a whole six days there :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Every time we've been it's been a "Classic" package booked direct with Disney, then flights booked with either British Midland or Easyjet independantly.

We very nearly booked with Leisure Direction which was by far the cheapest and the prices on the website for the Sequoia Lodge are for Montana rooms (!!), but decided against it at the last minute and went with Disney direct. The reason we did so is because Leisure Direction didn't offer the Disney Express luggage service on the Eurostar. Though in retrospect it would probably have been just going with Leisure Direction and spending a few extra euros to get the Disney Express tags! Ah well.

Also if you want to go during off-peak times, Sundeal have really excellent deals on their website and I'm sure they would do other dates if you ring them up. The lady I spoke to when I rang up was really lovely. And I mean, look at this one - £499 pp for four nights in the Disneyland Hotel and a free upgrade to first class on the Eurostar?! Can't ask for much more than that!

Also, definitely ring up, don't rely on prices on websites. Leisure Direction actually worked out slightly differently for the few quotes I got!

I have always booked through Disney or French Life.

Both have always been cheaper then the main travel agencies for me.

Thanks for your input, guys! I'm trying to work out the approximate cost of a Christmas trip (not going this year, but we want to know what to expect if we go next year!) and wanted some recommendations of places to book through. Thanks everyone!

Hi

I searchd numerous internet companies and DLP direct. I chose Thmas cook signatre as they price matched my quote from leisure direction, booked all my travel and you gt a few goodies, kids packs etc included. It was the same price as booking direct, but I thought it was easier with one company. I simply gave them the company name and price and they matched it. I have had friends who have got a lower than matched price or upgrades etc. I suspose it depends when you are going etc.
