Like some others here, we watch "Christmas Vacation" every year. My parents come and visit for the holidays (they're from another part of the country) and the irony is that when the relatives ring the front doorbell in the movie-bong bong-my mother laughs. Little does she know that we can really identify with the Griswold family at that point. However, one really touching part of the movie is near the latter part when Clark asks his Dad if he's going to read the Christmas Story, and his father says something like "It's your house-I'm retiring". That always makes my Dad get misty-eyed, and as a result so do I.
