Which choice would be my best bet?

We plan on renting points for the first time - but not until November 2015 (the week before Thanksgiving - not the week OF Thanksgiving). We need a 2Br for a week and are considering AKL, BLT or VWL. 4 adults and 2 under 5. Originally I thought that BLT would be best due to proximitiy to MK -but not sure the number of points would be available at 11 mo. I will probably look at David's but want to scour these boards for a private person, even though I am a little reluctant to do that. Which resort do you think we would most likely be able to find the points and availability? How early should I try to contact an advertiser on this board? Would it be easier to look for less than a week and just book another resort for the other days? I am sure these are unanswerable questions, but I like to plan WAY ahead. Thanks for any information or guidance.

Book as close to eleven months in advance as you can, particularly if you want a point-cheaper room (AKV value or BLT standard). The week before thanksgiving lies after food and wine festival ends and before Christmas high demand season begins, so you shouldn't have trouble finding something.

Each resort has their respective advantages; I would be happy to stay at any of them.

It's unknowable which will have the requisite points available when you want to book. VWL is a much smaller resort than the other two, so there are less total points in play there. Beyond that, it's basically luck.

Both BLT and VWL are small resorts. AKL is very large so it would be your best bet for availability. I'd definitely check for all of them, in the order of your preference, but you will have the best chance at AKL, simply because of its size.
