We have always used VA/VH in the past as we tend to go for just over 14 nights.
We are looking to go again August 2009 and have had quotes of £2160 (15 nights from 21/8) and £2511 (16 nights from 20/8)from VH. This is for 2 adults and 1 child (4) and for a flydrive (no insurance) as we will arrange our own car hire.
I am now considering a charter flight/flydrive for 14 nights (from 22/8) to see if we can cut the cost. Given that we haven't used a charter company for over 10 years I haven't a clue as to who is good/bad etc.
Who would you recommend? We would prefer to fly from Manchester rather than trek down to Gatwick. Seat back TV's are a must and would consider upgrading to Premium if the cost was comparable to VH. Dates are pretty rigid due to us doing a cruise whilst we are there and getting DD back for starting school.
I know we could possibly get the flights cheaper if we wait until October when VA release them but we would prefer to book sooner rather than later and have time to save up the cost rather than have to pay it out in October.
