Which Character Meals are the best?

Hi,

We will be going to WDW in Sept. 2008, and we need to make reservations for dinner (we just finally decided to go this week). Given that I have 2 kids DD6 and DS4, we figured that we would do a lot of character meals and that way the kids could meet characters without us having hunt them down.

We have already decided to do the Norway Princess Breakfast, because
1. Its late and reservations for CTR are not available
2. The DS is autistic and I figure putting him into that environment would be like tossing a hand grenade into a crowd.

I also need to find something that has Donald and possibly Goofy (DS favorites, at the moment)

Thanks,

Donald's safari breakfast @ AK.

Chef Mickey's will probably be full. We have been there at least 5 times and have seen Donald there only once but you will find Goofy there. And it is a fun active place (no offense but we all act out at Chef Mickey's :) )

Garden And Grill is a nice quiet character meal. Micky, pluto, chip and dale will be there. The server brings you an all you care to eat platter. I like the food and atmosphere. It is very relaxing.

I wouldn't worry about where you dined with an autistic child. It is life and I think anyone with a child is very understanding. Unless, you don't want to overstimulate him, I understand that too. Then I would steer away from CM.

Chef Mickey is my kids absolute favorite.

It has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. But it is a very loud, crowded boisterous place.

What are your kid's favorite characters? I think most of the character meals are pretty similar in food quality, it really comes down to where you'll be in the World that day and which characters your kids want to get up close and personal with.

MY favorite is the 1900 Park Fare breakfast because Mary Poppins was my favorite character as a child but not everyone loves meeting her like I do ;)

But the Tusker House breakfast at AK was excellent*, as was lunch at the Crystal Palace - and lunch at the Garden Grill.

*Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, and Goofy, all in safari gear...too cool!

Ohana's character breakfast is very good. There is a conga line type thing during it. But it's not nearly as load and crazy as some of the other character meals. Also, if you ask and explain I think they could probably get you closer to the entrance where the noise level would be at a minimum and you'd still get to experience all the characters. :)

To us, Cape May Breakfast at the Beach Club is hands down our favorite. We have eaten at Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, and Cape May. Cape May is really bright and clean and the character's were a riot when we were there. Goofy kept picking on me for wearing a Portland Trailblazer's jersey (don't blame him lol) but he was wearing an inter tube so he couldn't talk. It was just a real enjoyable experience
