Going to Disney for the first and possible the only time with husband, 6 and 7 year olds. Cindys breakfast is top on our list if we can get in. What other Character meals are a must. Will be traveling with one princess and one 100% boy. Would like at least 1 character meal that would appeal to each of them. I could always do more if there were a bunch of must dos.

Thanks for the help

Check out Donald's Breakfastausaurus (sp?) in AK. It is set up like a dino dig. Waiters are funny - archeological students. Mickey, Donald, Pluto and the gang are dressed as archeologist types! Your 100% boy will go for this!

Also Garden Grill in Epcot has Farmer Mickey, and Chip and Dale. We had a great meal here! Do the Land ride before eating here to see where some of your vegeatables are grown using facinating "soil-less" techniques! Lunch or dinner.

Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner at Crystall Palace.
Breakfast at Donald's Restonasaurus.
Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table.
Breakfast/Dinner at Chef Mickeys.
Lunch at Garden Grill.

In that order.

dinner at either chef mickeys, or 1900 Park faire, or GARDEN GRILL in epcot, or liberty tree

Lunch - Crystal palace, garden grill,

Breakfast 1900 PARK FAIRE, CRT, Princess Bfast ir Norway, Donalds Breakfastasaurus

Our all time favorite is Crystal Palace breakfast..... Chef Mickey's breakfast is a very close second!!!

The one character meal that is a MUST for our family is the breakfast at 1900 Park Faire.

The buffet is FANTASTIC, the service is top notch, and the characters are GREAT!!!

When we were there on a Sunday in October, the characters in attendence were Mary Poppins and Bert in the lobby coloring with the kids, and Alice in Wonderland, Tigger and Pooh in the dining room, circulating around the tables. We were able to spend a good deal of time with them, and they were SO good!

I have heard on other days, you may also see the Mad Hatter and Eeyore. The characters do rotate, but Mary and Alice are ALWAYS there!

Hope you try it out, and enjoy it as much as we do!

Our other must do is no longer in existance, and that was lunch at Hollywood and Vine... may it rest in peace.

These are a must for my family & I:

1. Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (B, L & D)
2. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (D)
3. Garden Grill at EPCOT (L & D)
4. Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK (D)

Chef Mickey's is ok for breakfast, but I would forget about it for dinner. Dined here on my last trip and it was the absolute worst meal I had at WDW. The food was awful and it was a total waste of money.

I wouldn't say anything is a "must" We prioritize doing a character meal pretty highly - it appears on our "must" list. But if you don't get into Cindy's, or you don't get Chef Mickey's for dinner on your first night, you can still have a magical vacation. And particularly if this will be your only visit to Disney - how much time (a limited commodity at Disney - unless your first and only Disney trip is going to be for a month) do you want to devote to character meals?

Each character meal has its charms - and each has its issues. Each has its fans and each its detractors.

(BTW, if you haven't mentioned Cindy's to your daughter, don't until you secure the reservation).

I'm less picky about the meal and characters than I am about the time and place - At breakfast, I want to be out of there in time for the parks to open and convienent to the park I'm going to visit that day. A 8:00 breakfast at Ohana beats a 9:30 Chef Mickey's reservation for my family any day.
