I know this has probably been asked before but I didn't find anything in the search. Also with things reopening opinions may have changed.

If you could pick only 1 character meal outside of the park which would it be? (Restaurant/breakfast/lunch/dinner)?

We booked a last minute trip and and having trouble deciding. We have an 8 year old boy if that helps. We have previously only been to Tusker House. We want something outside of the park because we want to go on our non park day.

Topolino's over at Riviera is so much fun! DH and I go with our son and DIL and we have a blast. ADR's are hard to get though. Sometimes you get lucky with a cancellation 24 hours or so ahead. Good luck!

Topolinos Breakfast or Storybook (not sure if he would be into seeing Snow White but the dwarves and Evil Queen are super fun!)

I’d go by who his favorite characters are. My girls are big :stitch2: fans; so we’re going to Ohana. Topolinos has a great breakfast and is another favorite. I tend to stick to breakfast character meals as they are usually slightly cheaper.

I told my daughters we are only doing one character meals due to cost (they are both 10+). First choice for oldest was Storybook and first choice for youngest was ‘Ohana breakfast because of Stitch. I booked both and have to make a final decision.

We love Ohana character breakfast . Also Cape May breakfast is fun too ! We love that area so it’s a must do breakfast or dinner ( non character) at Cape May even if we aren’t staying at Yacht Club .

Look at recent YouTube videos for each. Ohana has basic fare and unique characters and Topolinos is unmatched quality. We gave up a HS morning to do a Topolinos breakfast and it was such a nice experience. It’s hard to get so 60+7 is when you see openings.

I wish we could do Toppolino but they have NO safe food for me on the menu and too much $$$ to risk it.

No safe food? Not asking what exactly but would think they can accommodate your food needs if you specify what those are.

Topolino's did a wonderful job with my gluten-free/dairy-free at dinner which proved to be a rarity last fall due to then ongoing shortages.

The Disney TS are typically very adaptable to whatever one's needs are, including multiple and unusual allergies.

Our DS6 is allergic to milk, eggs, sesame, cashews and sunflower seeds; our DD14 has peanut, treenut, sesame seed and sunflower seed allergies and they love Topolinos.

For our DS they made grilled (juicy) chicken with penne pasta and marinara that he wouldn’t let anyone else touch. Our DD can have everything on the menu with slight modifications.

Breakfast was a surprise! They had Just Egg brand vegan eggs for him and vegan pastries. They even made a vegan waffle for our son that was allergy friendly. They didn’t carry ripple milk (chick pea milk); CRT and AOA QS have it) but he drank a few sips of juice. We have it booked for our upcoming trip because of all of the options.

Steakhouse71’s chocolate cake is made in-house and they assured us it had no nuts (DD14 reacted to a special order cake from the GF bakery post pandemic and those were a few scary hours with visible stomach contractions and lots of vomiting). We monitored her and gave Benadryl and she was fine after a few hours. Like our pediatrician (has 3 kids with allergies) says you have to live your life and not let allergies and fear take over. They also carry Tofutti ice cream (HS ice cream shop near RnRC also does).

However if you have allergies form airborne particles then it’s a different story.

We do fill out a special diets form and Space220 (took everything off our sons plate and gave him fries with dried meat he didn’t touch and sorbet) and CRT chef’s contacted me a week before our trip.

I hadn't heard of this so just looked it up - didn't see anything about character dining though....
Garden Grove had a character breakfast prior to the closures but iirc it hasn't returned. It's a shame, my family used to do it a lot when I was a kid and I always really loved it.

Topolino’s was my favorite character meal. My daughter loved it too. We are going to do it again our next trip.

Topolinos breakfast hands down! I booked 60+5 but I ended up cancelling because a last minute reservation opened up the night before another morning that worked better for us. Stalk the ADRs the afternoon/night before you want to go!
