My DDiL and DS will be visiting next month before our cruise. Although a HUGE Disney fan, DDiL has NEVER been to WDW. She wanted to stay at AKL (done); She wants to see fireworks over the castle at MK (done); she wants to go to a character meal. (??) It's been a few years since we've been to one and we're not sure which is best. Opinions, please! DD

I really liked Chef Mickeys-- the food was good and the charecter interaction was great...we are going there again in September!

My kids' favorite is Chef Mickey's for dinner. It's not MY favorite place to eat, but it's decent, and you do get all the major players there (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald). Garden Grill is quieter and has Mickey, Pluto, and Chip 'n' Dale.

1) Chef Mickey's for breakfast
2) Tusker House for breakfast (AK)
3) Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner (MK)
4) Garden Grill (Epcot)

Just got back from WDW a couple of weeks ago. I highly recommend Supercalifragalistic (?) breakfast at the Grand Floridian. Food was awesome, best character meal we had and we did 4 of them. You see Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. Buffet with lots of choice and very high quality. Only 1 TS on the Dining Plan. Chef Mickey for dinner wasn't bad, but don't be fooled you have to buy the picture they take of you before entering the restuarant.:cloud9:

You can TRY and see if you can get in to the Castle ... the food isnt the best but everyone MUST eat in the castle once in their lifetime :lovestruc

If not the castle ... another great character meal is 1900 parkfare. It has Cindy, the prince, and the steps. It was a lot of fun and the food WAS good

If she would rather the more traditional characters then Chef Mickeys
or Liberty tree Tavern or Garden Grill. I don't care for the food as much at Checf Mickeys but you get Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and pluto so that makes up for the food :rotfl:

"I highly recommend Supercalifragalistic (?) breakfast at the Grand Floridian". I've not heard of this one. Is this in addition to 1900 Park Fare?

I guess it was at the 1900 Park Fare. When WDW Dining for a nice place for breakfast they suggested this character breakfast and that is what they called it. I hadn't heard of it either:confused3

Noone has mentioned the buffet at crystal palace. My kids love winnie the pooh and hte food is pretty good. Service is always great as well. Usually need reservations for that one.

Chef Mickeys is really nice. The character interaction is great and the food is delicious. (and it is just a short ride on the monorail to MK.) We also like Cape May for breakfast. It is a character breakfast at the YC/BC.

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I absolutely love Crystal Palace and I know she'd love the breakfast w/ the princess, but we aren't planning on going to MK prior to our cruise. I guess they can go on their own on Sunday. DD

yes Ohana is Charecter ---Lilo and stitch, and a few others...I cant remember who--Im sure someone else here will know.:goodvibes

Also 1900 parkfare has 2 character meals... we did both recently (DD is a character hound!!)
Both were great food

Breakfast- Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger
Dinner- Cindy, Prince charming, both step sisters and Lady Tramain.

The steps were a lot of fun!!!!

Please tell us more about this one... We have not done it or heard anything about it... Is it one table credit on the plan? What types of foods do they have? Buffet? How was the food? Is it in 1900 Park Fare?
