Which Character meal would you choose....I have two DS's ages 4 1/2 and 6 1/2. I made a few ADR's and haven't been to WDW before. I figured, I would make them now and cancel any that we don't want in the end. I think our max on character meals would be 2.

I have ADR for the crystal palace on our first day (11:45 for early lunch). Idea is to be there for rope drop, and then after lunch stay another hour...then an afternoon break and return around 5:30pm and stay to closing.

I have a breakfast @ 8:40 AK in the "new" Donald safari breakfast...if that is any good let me know!

I also picked out one for Chef Mickeys...@ 10:35(the only time I could get all week!) This day would be a possible "off property"day at the beach after breakfast.

Lastly I have one for Ohana for breakfast @ 10:50 (the only time I could get)Is the real atmosphere here in the eve for dinner?

Thoughts?

P.S. other meals we planned on were the biergarten for dinner, sci fi for snacks and possibly the 50's primetime for dinner.

Thanks in advance!

If you are doing 2, I would for sure keep crystal palace since you will be getting similiar characters at any of the other ones. Also I think CP has the best food.

As for your second choice, honestly, just pick the one that works best for your schedule. They would all be enjoyable.

If you're flexible, what I would do is schedule the CP for breakfast one morning at 8am. This way you could get into the MK early before it opens. This makes for some great pictures without the crowds.

Also, I would choose CM for the other one. One option - if that happens to be an emh day at the MK, you could go in for 8am, spend 2 hours there, and then walk to the CR for the breakfast at CM.

Thanks for the suggestions...any more thoughts anyone?

We are staying offsite, and so EMH is not an option for us. I don't know if I can get my group up early enough to do an ADR...the 8:40 at the AK(closest to our condo)is pushing it. We are from the west coast and will be getting used to the time change as well. 8am WDW time is 5am our time!! Being that we have a condo, we were thinking about mainly eating breakfast in our room each morning. I figured later "breakfast/ early lunches" would tide us over for most of the day until dinner (with snacks of coursepopcorn:: ).

The new Donald breakfast is very good. do it early to get into the park before the crowd.

CP is also very good.

We did for our DS 1 Cp ,Ds 8 CM ,and DD8 , 1900 park fare I will do Cp and Cm again but we are doing Liberty tree or Garden grill , But my twins are still talking about Cm and that was almost 3 years ago.

We really enjoy Crystal Palace. I never been disappointed in their food.

I think you should try Doald Safari...we did the old one...so it must be the same. We really enjoy it.

One way to look at it ...your in the park...and don't have to leave.

CM would be my choice. I like the characters. Classic Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc; Just my opinion.

I have eaten at all the places you picked. Here's my thoughts:

I LOVE Crystal Palace for lunch. We did the same exact thing you are doing - get to MK early and have an early lunch then break. We really enjoyed the food there.

Last month we had breakfast at Donald's at AK - it was good, but I don't think I'd do it again. The food was good and the characters were great, but I think I'm just not into character breakfasts.

I would not do O'Hana for breakfast again. The characters were great, and they have a cute parade that kids and characaters are in, but the food did nothing for me. It was just eggs, bacon, sausage and Mickey waffles - I didn't think it was worth the money.

I like Chef Mickey's for dinner - haven't done breakfast there. I love the dinner.

We love Ohanas. They have a little parade with the characters and they hand out instruments to the kids. The food was good and the view of MK was beautiful!

Thanks everyone....that narrows it down for me! Henrylovespooh...I'm glad that somebody thinks a little like me. We arrive to Orlando late the night before...so I don't think we'd make a breakfast...plus we can just have something light in the AM and then enjoy the lunch @ CP.

I think the other two choices I might choose between (if we decide to do a second character meal)is Donald's Safari ( DS 6 loves jungle animals/ safari, etc. Both kids want to see the traditional characters...and I've heard this is the only one that Donald is at). Or, I might see if I can get a dinner instead at Chef Mickey's ....I was hoping to do that. Maybe someone will cancel as we get closer.

Thanks again everyone...so much to do so little time, especially the first time! I am trying to keep in perspective that we want the kids to have a good time (within $$ reason:rotfl: )and food isn't the biggest priority too them. Honestly, they'd be happy with Cotton candy, popcorn and a mickey ice cream!:rotfl2:

Donald's Safari is WONDERFUL. It is the best character breakfast experience I have had in all of Disney. This is for both the food and character interaction.

I am still undecided on breakfast, have read that goofy appears "sometimes" at CM. VMK was goofy at the AK breakfast, or does someone know if he is always at CM. I need to decide on those 2 and make reservations. Never done a character meal. It will just be for adults for my yikes 50th b-day. I'd appreciate any info on goofy.
Thanks

Another vote for Ohanas breakfast. The character interaction is wonderful. You have great views of the MK. They have the parade which is very cute and it's all a very unrushed atmosphere. Have never been overly impressed with Chef Mickeys. They just seem to rush you through everything there. It's a cute 1 time experience though if you've never been. But the food is deffinately low end buffet and not worth the money at all. CRT is another great option if your into the princess's.

goofydebi,
From what I heard, It's Donald Daisy Mickey and Goofy @ the Safari.

frdeb1999,
My two boys would never allow a meal with princesses!! Ha! Ha!

Ok now, you guys are supposed to be helping, not making it harder to just choose one or two!! No Fair!:dance3: :lmao: Just when I think I figured it out!

Ha Ha! My son (20) would never allow a princess meal either, or pooh, and i feel the same. ok so i'm looking at Chef Mickey's as my final decision as soon as someone comfirms that Goofy will be walking around doing pictures.

Thanks
