Out of all the character dinners, which one consistently has the best food quality in your opinion?

I voted first! YAY!

I have to go with Garden Grill. Every single time I've gone there, I've been VERY happy. My husband, who is a Chicago food snob, was moaning in pleasure while eating there.

Of course, I haven't had any other character dinners, just lunches and breakfasts. Still, my favorite is Garden Grill hands down.

Thanks for the input! That's one of my ADR's for this trip, and I wondered if the food was any good. I know the characters will be sweet at the Garden Grill, but it is nice to know that the food will be special, too.

After I posted this poll, I realized that the characters are gone in the evening at Ohana's, but the restaurant still has entertainment. I am curious about the food quality there.

Then, I got to thinking and I realized that Cape May does not have characters in the evening either. It does have a festive atmosphere, though, with the clam bake theme and all.

It's the only dinner out of the entire poll that I have ever tried. I thought it was good food, but it wasn't a must-do for us on every trip. (Although, if we ever stay at an Epcot Resort one day, I would definitely schedule an ADR or two at Cape May Cafe.)

Out of the character dinners we've done (CRT, Akershus, 1900, CM and CP) I vote for Crystal Palace. The food is fresh, hot and tasty and the desserts are great. We are in the minority that really likes H & V, but it's the lunch that's a character meal there. As far as 'Ohana goes, we thought the food was very good (and plenty of it:thumbsup2 ). No characters but the entertainment is great fun for kids.

Have a great trip :)

Don't all of the buffets have VERY similar menus and quality anyway? Also, I think LTT and GGs dinners may also have many common items on the menu, if Im not mistaken:confused3

We call that "same thing...only different". Like how the fish choice is ALWAYS salmon??

We ate at Akershus for the first time last year. We were all pretty leery about the food going in but as it turned out....it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten hands down!

Funny most are voting Crystal Palace. When we ate there last January I thought the food was disgusting. We loved Chef Mickey's though.

Out of all of the character dinners we went to,1900 Park Fare, and Crystal Palace were both Excellent!! Next trip we plan on doing them both-TWICE!!!:worship:

My family LOVES Garden Grill. We always go right when they open and get tons of attention from the characters. We've been several times and the food is always very good. We've never liked catfish and love it here. And they also have the best warm cornbread!

Just an FYI: 'Ohana, Hollywood and Vine, Cape May Cafe and Tusker House are not character meals at dinner time.

I like the dinner food at CP.:thumbsup2

Disgusting in what way?

Was it cold? Was it some kind of health code violation? Did you not like the choices?

I'm somewhat of a foodie. When we were there for lunch recently, it certainly was not what I could call gourmet food, but it was quite tasty.

We dined at Tusker House for lunch just after it opened and it was our best buffet meal of our trip hands down.... but it isn't a character meal for lunch or dinner so I voted for 1900 Park Fare.

I have to agree w/ a previous poster, Crystal Palace was our least favorite meal (dinner) both character and food wise.

I would vote for Chef Mickey's as a close second to 1900 Park Fare.

Chef Mickey's dinner is like eating at a Golden Corral and it costs $30+. The breakfast is good though, but then again its hard to ruin pancakes, eggs and toast.
Love Crystal Palace.

I loved Tusker House's lunch buffet, but it's not character so I voted for Crystal Palace. Like Aurorae, I am somewhat of a foodie & enjoyed my experiences there. We even go as an adult family not for the characters, but because it's a good lunch in MK.

OTOH, I will never step foot in Chef Mickey's again, not even for the GrandChildren. There's better food & better Character interaction elsewhere. In fact, all 5 adults in our party found the food completely inedible & ate alsewhere after we fed the kids in our party.

It's a shame because CM used to be fairly decent when my son was little.

most of there a buffets and I dislike buffets ( kids and sloppy adults ) I like ohanas, no buffet line or have to worry about sneeze guard effectiveness. Characters I don't think there are any at dinner ( except the highly makeuped lady singing) .

I voted for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. I love the food and the characters just add to it.
