We are surprising my oldest dd with a WDw trip on her birthday in Feb. I am trying to figure out which character dining experience to choose between the two of these... Chef Mickey or Garden Grill? She loves Mickey Mouse and Minnie so I thought these would be the two best choices...which one would you recommend? Thanks!

Between those two I would pick Chef Mickey. Since it's for your daughter have you thought about 1900 park fare lane?

If she loves Mickey and Minnie than I would choose Chef Mickey's. I have not been to Garden Grill myself but I did not think that Minnie was one of the characters there. Maybe someone who has been there can correct me if I am wrong. Chef Mickey's will have Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. HOpe that helps. Good luck with your planning!:goodvibes

Yes, we looked at 1900 Park Fare, but didn't see where MIckey was an appearing character there. Her fave is Mickey, so that is why we thought that one of these would be a good one for her. She is turning 13, so she's pretty much over the princess things (even thought she is dev.delayed and does like some "younger kid" characters)

As long as Mickey is there, we'll be good lol I was sorta leaning toward Chef Mickey's, but just like more input. Thanks for your help!!

I know it wasn't one of the choices, but we loved Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. The character interaction was great and so was the food. Donald, Mickey, Goofy & Daisy were all there. We met Minnie later in the day at Camp Minnie-Mickey, just before the FOTLK show.

Chef Mickey gets my vote. The food there was great and the character interaction was good.

Minnie is a sure thing at Chef Mickey...if I recall right she isn't at Garden Grill...Chip & Dale, Pluto, & Mickey think that's it there

I've done Chef Mickey's when I was a kid for breakfast and liked it. I've gone twice with my kids for dinner and have had a blast both times. I know some people don't like the food and others complain about service, but I have never had a problem with either.

Garden Grill, on the other hand, was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had at Disney. The upper level of the restaurant is cramped and unkempt. The stuffing is disgusting (although I liked the rest of the food), the service is so-so. The Living With the Land soundtrack is way too loud. And the service is only mediocre.

Between those two I would also choose Chef Mickey's.
I am not sure if things changed because we have gone here in a while but did you look at the Cape May Cafe breakfast? I am pretty sure that had all the top 5: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Daisy. The food was really good and the interactions was wonderful, the characters spent a lot of time at our table. Just another thought, don't want to confuse you more.
We did Chef Mickey's too and it was great for characters, food was ok but my kids got very distracted at Chef Mickey's for some reason and ended up not eating much and being hungry an hr later. Not sure why it happened there and not at the other character meals.

yes 1900 Park Fare does NOT have Mickey or Minnie. It has Anastasia & Drizella, Evil Step Mother (don't know her name), God Mother, Gus Gus and Jack, Prince Charming.

But if you are looking for Mickey and Minnie then Chef Mickeyis the way to go.

I second Donald's Safari Breakfast!!! There is a lot of entertainment and the Charaters spent a lot of time with us. I liked Chef Mickey and will go back, but I didn't care for the impersonal Birthday celebration they do. They sang it for everyone at the same time. It was nice, but would have expected a little more "Magic".

I third it. It's a "must do" for us.
