Hey everyone,
So, my planning is going ok. Our trip isn't until the July 4, 2005 but I just want to get everything done without any unwanted surprises. Anyways, we have it narrowed down that we'll be staying at the AKL. It'll be myself, DW, DS6, DD4, Grandparents, brothers, and sisters. Since this will be our first, and quite possibly, our only trip to WDW for some time, what is the one Character meal that you would suggest? Breakfast or lunch would be ok but we prefer dinner. Is there such thing as one Character Dining experience that WDW offers that everyone must do? If so, which one would that be?

Most people would say the Castle with Cinderella. If it is Princesses you want to see then that is the one.

For us it is the breakfast at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club. THe food is the best, it is not usually too crowded or loud and I have NEVER had anything but the best character interaction! That is my vote since DD doesn't care for the Princess thing. She just remembers how Goofy drank from her cup when he climbed over the bench to sit next to her. She will never forget that.

http://www.allearsnet.com/din/cbchar.htm have a look at this link. it will tell you where the characters can be found. since y'all have one of "each" i would suggest chef mickey at the comtemporary. both breakfast and dinner are served. if you are wanting one in a park, then liberty tree tavern in magic kingdom would be a good choice, as is the garden grill at epcot. LTT is dinner while garden grill is both lunch and dinner. hope this helps!

Great suggestions! Much appreciated I noticed that on the allearsnet link you provided that it listed the one character. Sorry for the dumb question but does that mean that it's just the one character or does this mean it typifies the theme for the meal? We are wondering if we should do a breakfast meal for my DS and a dinner for my DD. When we go to DL, the DLH will have 4-5 characters come out to accomodate both boys and girls. Thanks!

usually the meals have several characters in attendance. the different meals for each child is a good idea!

Thanks again for your help. If you have any other suggestions, please share them with me...

why not ask the children who is the favorite character of each? then plan accordingly. we like donald's breakfastasarous at AK. this is a great place to see donald, chipndale, mickey, and goofy. the buffet is very good. it is perfect for adults; it is just my husband and me and this is the one we will do repeatedly.

I like the Pooh bfast at Crystal Palace 1st thing in the morning....no one in the park...you have Main St. all to yourself

The kids don't really have a favorite. Although, my DD is really into princess stuff. So, I can see us CRT in the morning. For my son, we'll have to think about this one... Thanks!

If your daughter likes Cinderella, there is a buffet dinner at 1900 Park Faire at the grand Floridian that has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (the mice) and usually the Fairy Godmother in the lobby. There is also PSB at EPCOT for breakfast with the princesses but Cinderella does not appear there.

For your son, my nephew who is also six picked Chef Mickeys for dinner and Breakfastasourus for breakfast.
Have a great time!

Chef Mickey's has been a popular suggestion. Thanks everyone. Chef Mickey's it is for DS's dinner!

This is a great place to dine. The food is great and so is the service. Dined at Chef Mickey's for dinner on my last trip and don't plan on returning for dinner anytime soon. Thought the food was the worst on property and the character interaction was minimal.

How was the character interaction at Crystal Palace? I figure that if the food is so-so, interaction should hopefully make up for it. At least enough to make the family happy.

And then I had the exact opposite feelings. Different strokes ...as the saying goes. Good thing we all have varying opinions or we'd ALL be at the same retaurant! I didn't like the food at the Crystal Palace and we don't plan on returning there (character interaction was pretty okay though but not more or less we felt than Chef Mickey's) but Chef Mickey's has been our all time favorite ever single visit. Food is good. Not GREAT but good. You want great buffet food, 1900 Park Fare. Just a wee bit boring I thought as well as my DS4 thought too. Well then he DID try to grope Mary Poppins!!!!! :earseek: And he came away from there with 2 kisses on his cheeks from her. Maybe I was wrong?!?!? ;)

Just our opinions guys!!!!:wave2:
